Stereotypes and melodrama abound in this third installment of the "Redemption" series (after Redemption and Remember) featuring the Baxter family in Bloomington, Indiana. Luke Baxter and Reagan Decker made a terrible mistake the night of September 10, 2001, one that neither feels can be fixed in the wake of September 11. Meanwhile, Ashley Baxter is trying to reconnect with Landon Blake, who has gone off to become a New York City firefighter in honor of a friend who perished there. Unfortunately, the characters are little more than cardboard cutouts, and the novel reads more like a public service announcement against premarital sex than a contribution to literature. Every time a Baxter errs, he or she is socked with tragic deaths, life-threatening illnesses, or some other monumental disaster. A far better pick on the ups and downs of relationships is Linda Nichols's If I Gained the World (see below). Purchase only where the "Redemption" series is in demand.     Another fantastic book of life's challenges

    This chapter in the Baxter family's lives involves Luke who has blamed God for the impact 9-11 had on his life and turns away from is faith and family. He has to struggle and fight before he is brought back. Another gripping book dealing with difficult life experiences. I had to read the next one immediately.

    GREAT BOOK!!!

    I actually started this series with this book even though its not the first one but i loved it!!!! Its a wonderful story about redemption and how great God's mercy is!!! I highly recommend this book!

    Another Fantastic Read

    This is another Karen Kingsbury novel that grabbed my attention from the first page and held it until the last. This is the third book in the "Redemption" Series. It continues the story of the Baxter family of Bloomington, Indiana, and stretches to include New York City. This one centers around Luke and his struggles with his faith in the wake of 9/ll and the heartbreak following the collapse of the Twin Towers. He struggles with the same question many have when bad things happen to good and innocent people..."Where is God during the midst of this tragedy?" Kingsbury deals with a heartbreaking time every American struggled with, but she does it through the lens of enlightening and heart healing Christian fiction. This series is a must read!

    Overwhelming

    This third book was incredible. The events that happened love tested, hearts broken and the longing for somehting more. Does not matter how far you think you are from God he is always there calling us back to him. It doesnt matter how many times we fall God loves with an unconditional love.

    Third in the series but not in rating!

    In the wake of the attacks on America on 9/11, Luke Baxter's world was shaken. The day before the attacks, he and Reagan took their physical relationship too far, leaving both of them burned and feeling like they'd failed their faith and each other. Luke responds by withdrawing and turning away from everything he once loved, God and his family. The Baxters certainly feel like something is missing in the time that Luke is gone, especially his father, John. But Landon Blake discovers a secret that would take Luke back to a time when God was loving and good. All the while, Ashley Baxter receives word from Paris and a single blood test will change her life forever. Another book in the Redemption series but certainly gives more perspective on the different members of the Baxter clan. As usual, faith and hope are at the core of this easy but amazing read.
