Overview

Split between two worlds, Conor, Abeke, Meilin, and Rollan are four young heroes who are racing to stop an ancient evil. Even the spirit animal bond, the sacred link between humans and animals, is on the brink of destruction.

The friends face an enemy with the power to enslave others to its will-and to steal spirit animals away from their rightful partners. With their own allies falling to this darkness, the four must look to their bonds to light the way forward.

But one of those lights is about to go out. Briggan, Uraza, Jhi, and Essix. Before their journey is over, one of these legends will be lost.

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Alissa Fewell
The Wyrm, an ancient evil, is taking over Erdas. Slowly the bond linking humans to their Spirit Animals is dwindling away. In two different worlds, four young heroes work with other upcoming Greencloaks on how to save Erdas and defeat the Wyrm that continues to infect the humans. Evil Zerif does what he can to steal away Spirit Animals and take humans under his control. Each group of young heroes must survive on their own while trying to find a solution against this ultimate evil. The two groups must find a way to defeat Zerif and the Wyrm or the Great Beasts will continue to be stolen until there is no one left to save their world. This book is masterfully written with twists and turns on each page. Readers new to the “Spirit Animals: Fall of the Beast” series will struggle immensely with getting to know the heroes, both human and Spirit Animal. The names of everything—people, animal, and locations—are all very challenging to pronounce and keep straight, making this a difficult book to read independently of the rest of the series. Once the reader has a strong grasp on the different characters and places, the book is highly engaging and rewarding. The vocabulary is demanding, without being overwhelming. Readers may want to reread the preceding books in the series. A game is available online for those readers interested in playing along. Loads of action, excitement, and fantasy will keep readers turning pages right from the beginning. Reviewer: Alissa Fewell; Ages 8 to 12.
