    Return of the Runaway Bride

A perfect life... who runs away from that? Nineteen-year-old Savanna did just that, feeling like her textbook life had been created for her by others. Her parents had carefully orchestrated her life and now she was about to jump into a marriage to a wonderful man, who would continue their goal-to make sure that she was provided with everything. She panicked and ran away, leaving her life in Fulton behind. Six years later, she returns home to mend bridges. The man she left behind, Daniel, is still around, embittered and hardened by her abandonment. Will she be able to fit back into Fulton life? Will she be able to get him to forgive her? Donna Fasano (award-winning author Donna Clayton) takes us on a journey of intense passion, exploring the boundaries of love and repercussions. Her writing is style is such that I was hooked right away, and completely invested in the love affair between Savanna and Danny. I look forward to reading many more books by this amazing author.

    Return of the Runaway Bride

In the author's note, Fasano says this book was inspired by an elevator ride she shared with a bride-to-be and her mother who had just picked up a bridal gown. The daughter told her mother, "I just don't think I can go through with this" and Fasano took it from there. With the pressure of wedding preparations, the commitments implied, and what they might be giving up, getting cold feet on the cusp of the wedding is common.

Although acting on those concerns is rare, Savanna's reasons made sense. She felt going from her parent's care straight to marriage, especially to someone like her fiancé Danny who is on the verge of joining his father's law practice, would preclude her from ever becoming independent. If only she'd thought of this sooner. Of course, had she done that, we wouldn't have much of a story.

What I enjoyed about "Return of the Runaway Bride" was the premise, since it is something many have considered, and an exploration of the potential repercussions. Although it does have the required happily-ever-after ending, getting there is far from easy. It also depicts the advantages of small town life, with their extensive informal support systems, and the disadvantages due to gossip and everyone knowing your business.

    More than I expected!
Savannah returns to her childhood home 6 years after running out of town on her wedding day.  While she knows making amends with Daniel and the townspeople will not be easy, she did not expect to still care so much for Daniel.
The author does a good job keeping the story moving and not always where you would expect – and this is good.  I was surprised how easy Daniel’s mother accepts Savannah back into her home.  Things are not so easy to patch up with Daniel and it was refreshing to see that they both did not just immediately fall back in love and live happily ever after.  I am not saying they didn’t, just that their journey was realistic.
This was a good story that I really enjoyed.
