Overview

As a boy in the 1960s, Robert Zweig had a rare opportunity: Every summer, he would leave his home in America and make extended visits to his mother's birthplace-Naples, Italy. A thoroughly enjoyable read!

Even for someone who visited Naples briefly only once many years ago, the author provided a warm reminder of what the people and the city felt and looked like. His romance with Naples clearly shines through. And his writings about his family and his summertime friends reveal aspects of Naples that are enlightening, at times humorous and always fascinating.

    Oustanding, fun read

Zweig is more than a story-teller, more than a novelist, and more than a literary artist. He is a cultural historian, who in his interconnected stories, captures a place and time. Zweig writes in a similar style to Khaled Hosseini in regards to his detail and imagry. I personally found it difficult to put down...excellent read!
