Return to Pooh Cornerby Kenny Loggins
Kenny Loggins, whose career began with "House at Pooh Corner," joins the flood of pop artists making children's albums and turns out to be a natural. At his best, Loggins always had a childlike quality, but his techno-pop albums of the late '80s buried that, along with his other virtues. On this gold-selling, Grammy-nominated record, Loggins mixes songs by Paul Simon, John Lennon, Rickie Lee Jones, and Jimmy Webb with more traditional children's fare. The result is probably most useful as lullaby material for children, but its secondary (perhaps primary) audience is those children's parents, disaffected Kenny Loggins fans likely to be won back by this winning album that may, in fact, be the best record Kenny Loggins has ever made.

My two-year old class loved this album for naptime. It's so calming. I too would try to mix it up and use other lulliby albums, but they never responded to those like they did to this one. A definate must have for ECE rooms!
I actually bought this CD before I had children, because it is so peaceful and soothing. I played it while pregnant with my now 2-month-old son and it has since become a bedtime ritual. The songs both bring back childhood memories for me, and create beautiful new memories for me and my son!
i love this cd/tape it is so good and entertaining. It really calms the babies into quiet time. This is the one and only cd for us! This is a cd/tape that even the parents love and sing along to. I find my self singing the songs in my head even when it's not on. Great job Kenny Loggins!
This is the best C.D. for pre-K naptime! My little ones actually snore to this album, and if I try to play something different, they do not sleep as serenely... This is a must-have for all ECE classrooms!
I received this from a friend when I had twins (my first children) eight years ago. My twins listened to it every night at bedtime until they were almost three years old and it was a nightly ritual for my third child as well. I now have four children and am getting another copy of it as the first one is completely worn out!
I love his hit highway to the danger zone. I'm listen to it right now even as i'm writing.
Finally a compilation of songs that is not only comforting to my eighteen month old son, but I can enjoy as well...I sing my son the Winnie the Pooh song every night before he goes to sleep...The perfect solution for those who can't endure Barney et al...
i bought this cd when it first came out, way before i had my little girl, now 18 months old. adults or kids are going to love this - it's ageless. we use it in the car when we want our little one to relax or nap. even my husband started to love it once he heard it. i had to get him his own cd!
I actually had the cassette tape in the 80's when this album first came out. I played it until it broke. I was very young then, but a huge Kenny Loggins fan - I would listen to it and imagine singing the songs to my "future" son. Now I am a mother of a beautiful 8-month-old boy, and it has come to fruition. When I found out I was pregnant, I immediately bought the CD. To this day, it is the only music that INSTANTLY sedates my son. I bring it on ALL road trips, and keep a copy by the crib... I buy this for every friend who has a baby and they love it... As a special ed teacher, I've used it to calm my students with autism when they are over-stimulated... I even bought it for my 54-year-old mother, who cries every time she hears "All the Pretty Little Ponies" :-) What else can I say? It is an awesome CD that is worth it's weight in gold and then some.
This is a superb CD, it works like a charm in calming our daughter down for bedtime and we thoroughly enjoy it too! Go Kenny!
I love, Return to Pooh Corner, the first time I heard it I melted. It's a very precious song. Thanks.
I picked this one up 7 years ago when I was pregnant with my first son named Cody. I would play track 7 and put the headphones on my belly. When he arrived I would sing it to him every night. A friend painted the words on a canvas for his 1st b-day and he asked to hear HIS song whenever he is having a rough day. The whole CD is amazing and I have used it for all three of my boys. It has become a very special part of our lives.
I heard "Return" while pregnant with my first child. It is so calming bringing smiles to my face throughout the CD. It was/is the perfect music for my husband to dance around the living room while holding any combination of our 3 children. Definitely have a copy of it in your vehicle to induce peace and quiet. And finally, buy a copy for every parent-to-be that you know. It's a great shower gift and an instant hit when the nights aren't as quiet as they used to be. ;-)
