Gina's Rules for Surviving Super Spy Club Training:

1. First, the dirt and sweat are just too horrible to contemplate.

2. Unless you enjoy cold showers, be the first one to the bathroom in the morning.

3. Cargo pants make you look hip-py.

4. Making out on missions, unless it's part of your cover, is totally grounds for extra push-ups.

5. When going goth, you've totally got to strike words like totally, awesome, and phat from your vocabulary.

6. Who's actually running the Super Spy Club, you ask? I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.

Editorial Reviews

VOYA - Ava Ehde
Gina Covello, the hip fashionista vampiress, is back in her new role as Geneva Belfry, super spy for the government. Unfortunately, all her fashion and color sense must be suppressed since her first mission is as an undercover transplant goth-girl at Maureen Benson high school where falling test scores, low attendance and sudden outbreaks of violence have been noted. Bobby, the smart and sexy boy that turned her into the vampy vixen she is today, is sent undercover, with his special powers, as one of "the brains," while Ricky gets in with the local jocks. Together, they must learn more about the negative energy and violence that seems to be poisoning the local teens. Geneva and her minions, armed only with their new combat skills, garlic bombs and wooden stakes must take on the undead, lead by none other than Rasputin of Russian history. This is a witty vampire romance/adventure with plenty of heart and action. Diver has written a supernatural sequel to Vamped (Flux, 2009/VOYA August 2009) that will attract even reluctant readers. It is filled with wry twists, such as the difficulties of trying to apply mascara when, as a vampire, you don't have any reflection in the mirror, as well as all the typical agonies of being young and trying to fit in. Kirkus Reviews
Gina, the 17-year-old fashionista of the undead, is back and as sassy as ever (Vamped, 2009). Having put down the vampire queen who was so anxious to cut Gina out in order to take control of Bobby, Gina's one true love forever, this dynamic duo is now working for the so-uncool Feds. Assigned to go undercover as an emancipated minor, she has to infiltrate the local goth clique to see if they are behind some of the recent local disturbances at a rural high school. Black just does nothing for her, which she knows even without having a reflection in the mirror. But nothing stops Gina for long. Before you know it, she is cruising around town in a tricked-out hearse with a new posse of goth friends, butt-whipping jerk jocks and riding to the rescue of one and all. Thoroughly enjoyable, this sequel is a light, fizzy read. The plot isn't what matters here; listening in on Gina's thoughts and quick-witted dialogue is what makes this such a treat.
