Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
As austere and graceful as their pastel covers, the Abram's Daughters novel series by Beverly Lewis invites us into an Old Order community where good people wrestle with problems of faith, love, and responsibility. The Revelation brings this gripping three-generation story to an unforgettable multi-tiered conclusion.

A Romance Review
"The Revelation is the powerful conclusion to the ABRAM'S DAUGHTERS series. I enjoyed reading this book and seeing how it all panned out in the end. The Mast and Ebersol families will long hold a place in my heart; Beverly Lewis has done a masterful job creating their characters. It was a joy watching them grow."
Romance Junkies
"Beverly Lewis wraps up her five-book series, ABRAM'S DAUGHTERS, with The Revelation . It is a touching, tender story of Leah and Jonas and their deep love and longing for each other. A long-kept secret will finally be revealed, touching the lives of several families. All loose ties from past novels in this series are tied up, and readers will be pleased with its conclusion. I highly recommend the whole ABRAM'S DAUGHTERS series to inspirational romance lovers."

    Wonderfully written

I stumbled on this by accident. I loved the series with Abrams daughters. I read book 4 and 5 in the same week. I could not stop reading them. I couldn't be happier how it ended. I am starting another series of hers and very excited. Love grace drama pain endurance with a twist here and there loved it.

    Amazing story

This is an amazing story that brings the series to a close. It allows the readers to imagine how the lives of Abram's Daughters will move ahead. Beverly Lewis is an incredible author and I will definitely read her books again and would highly recommend them to anyone who has an interest in the Amish Community. I grew up not far from Lancaster County, PA and while I am not Amish, I was rasied with some of the same traditions that they follow.

Lewis' depction of Lancaster County is lovely and well-crafted, as is her writing. She also has a psychic window into the hearts of women and relationships between them.

    Disapointed

I enjoyed the first 4 books in this series but it should have been concluded in the 4th book. By postponing the ending to write a 5th book the story became overdrawn. Some of the story lines were a bit over the top and I felt that the author was stretching the subplots to make the book long enough to satisfy the publisher.

    Sad it's over..

I had read all of the Abram's Daughters series, and to be quite honest, I am sad it's over. Throughout all the books you go through these people's lives, wishing them the best and hoping their fairy tales come true. And, that is exactly what you get. Sadie's dream of meeting her first born and having another child happens. Leah finally gets to be with her Jonas, Mary Ruth and Hannah continue living their wonderful lives, and even Lydiann who was heartbroken from the news on Jake, gets to find her love interest also. All around, these stories by Beverly Lewis, they melt your heart, and make you think that Amish and Mennonite people are just like us. They have their own love, lost, and hardships to get through.

    Book 5 of 5

The Revelation tied all loose ends and answered all questions regarding the Ebersols, the Masts, and the Schwartz's. All three families are linked to each other in one way or another. Leah is finally going to marry her long lost beau Jonas and Sadie, a widow, is going to be wed as well. Abram has married his wife's sister and Mary Ruth is living her dream as a school teacher with her husband Robert. It is truly inspiring and it helps you to understand that even though you walk your path of life without knowing what the next day will bring God always does and everything happens for a reason. There are no mistakes. Beverly Lewis is a great author and she did a wonderful job with this series. It's rare that a book keeps my attention but in this case all 5 books kept my attention and kept me wanting more. Outstanding!!

    Amazing.

The entire series was amazing, I couldn't help but read them. From the start of The Covenant to the end of Revelation, I was captivated. Lewis has a way of making us feel the pain, sorrow, hope, and joy of the Ebersol family in a way that makes us crave for more. I laughed, I cried, but mostly...I wanted to make everything all right. A perfect end to the series, no matter how sad I am that it's over.

A look into a simpler way of life

This was the first of Beverly Lewis' novels that I read and I really enjoyed her insight of the Amish community portrayed in 'The Revelation'. I wish that I had read them in order--nothing like knowing the ending before knowing the beginning! I have since purchased the rest of the series and I am 1/2 way through the first novel, 'The Covenant', which I am also enjoying very much. I realize that the older and more worldly I get, the more I crave the simpler things in life, thus I am attempting to live vicariously through Abram's daughters and their story.

    The Series Ends Perfectly!

What can you say about a writer who manages to captivate all the human senses. Revelations exceeded my wildest expectations and this is the norm for Beverly Lewis. Looking forward to the start of her new series, 'The Preacher's Daughter' slated for release Nov. 2005.
