This is a well written introduction and build up to what i believe will be a great story. The characters are full of personality and the story flows with just the right amount of action, romance, sexaul tension, and suspense. It's not overly erotic and in my opinion suitable for tweens and teens yet still apeals to adults. It has been well edited and wasn't overflowing with grammer or spelling errors like so many "free" ebooks are. It was a good read and i would recommend it to all who enjoy paranormal and fantasy genres as long as you are aware that it is a cliffhanger and no plot resolutions will be revealed in this 1st book. If i could afford my reading addiction i would buy the rest of this series and look into other works by this author.

Very addicting. Does end on a cliffhanger but is a good story. Would have liked to see more in depth of the day to day lives. Building the relationships a bit more. But still a good story. I already bought the rest of the series.

I absolutely LOVED this book! It's one of the best books that I have read after a long time! This is such a beautifully written story with awesome characters that by the time you finish it, you'll be running to grab the next book. This story is packed with romance, suspense, mystery, and so many twists and turns that it will always keep you on your toes. The unique twist on gargoyles and angels and demons really made this book very interesting and kept me hooked until the very last word. Aside from the storyline of this book, I loved the characters! Every single one of them were fantastic. Especially Asher and Eve. They would make such a great couple, and you can just feel the intensity of their attraction and feelings towards each other. Asher is no doubt one of the most hottest, and swoon worthy character that I have ever read about, and Eve, she is just one damn feisty heroine. In many of the books I read, the main character doesn't really like to speak up, like if they hear something they'll keep it to themselves and try to figure everything out. However though Eve is most definitely not like that. If she hears something, especially concerning her that she doesn't know about, she will ask about it and keep asking until she gets a real answer. I loved how Eve wasn't afraid to call people out on their lies, or when they evaded her questions. Also she didn't try to be the super tough heroine who doesn't need any time to deal with life changing revelations. Eve wasn't afraid to admit when she needed space and time to absorb everything she was told and take the time to think everything through before making any decisions. I loved Eve's character and personality, it was very different than how most main characters are portrayed in many of the books that I have read. As for the supporting characters, I have to say I loved Callan and Aria the most. They were so upbeat and energetic and downright hilarious that you can't help but loving them. Keegan and McKenna though, I felt like we didn't really get to know much of them in this book, but they were nevertheless also great characters. And finally Gage.... I don't know what to think of him yet. He is supposedly working for the enemy group, but for some reason I feel that there's more to him than meets the eye, and I am definitley looking forward to finding out more about him in the next book. This was such a fun and interesting book, and I can't wait to get my hand on the next one! I am eagerly waiting to see what happens next with Asher and Eve, and I am so looking forward to where this story is going. I devoured this book, and definitely recommend it to everyone in need of a great paranormal romance story with awesome characters and a very highly interesting storyline!

As a longtime lover of the Paranormal genre, it is always refreshing to find a story that isn't a re-write of something that has already been done. Yes, there are parts of it like other books - there is romance, attraction, evil to be fought, cookies to be baked - but there is also lots that is new. I won't spoil any of it by giving away spoilers but suffice it to say that I was drawn into this story from the very beginning. So many questions that need answering, so much to find out and the best part for me was that Eve was on that journey of discovery with me. When a load of information (and pressure) gets dumped on her, she actually reacts. She doesn't just accept it "oh it's all okay, it's my role in life after all" as has happened in other books. No, she actually has a hissy fit and needs time out to sort things out for herself. She doesn't make an instant decision about anything that should require time and space to reach clarity. This makes her a fantastic character to read about. There are too many characters to gush about each and every one but what I will say is that everyone should have a Callen in their life! So much detail is given in this book, it makes it a delight to read. I love Randi Cooley Wilson's writing style and can't wait for Restraint book 2 to be released in August! I'm also running over to her website to read some from Asher's point of view (see link below). If you like Paranormal, Romance, Urban or Fantasy then I can completely recommend this book! If you haven't read one before then this is a wonderful one to start with! There is mystery, intrigue, and a gasp-inducing shock that occurs sometime during the book but I won't say when so I don't spoil anything.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story line introduced in this book and am looking forward to reading the next book in the series when it is released. However, I could only rate this at 3 stars due to the annoying reuse of terms/images, such as "stink eye" and Asher pushing a strand of Eve's hair behind her ear.
