Overview

Some people have to learn the hard way-don't mess with a geek.

Miranda Bloom, girl genius, is totally psyched to start her junior year at Geek High. Too bad her boyfriend, lacrosse player Dex McConnell, is off to boarding school in Maine. Miranda thought she could count on her best friends, Finn and Charlie, to cheer her up, but they're caught up in their own issues...

So Miranda decides to make friends with the shy new student Nora Lee. At first things with Nora are great, but soon it seems like Nora thinks that anything Miranda can do, she can do better. Surviving at Geek High is hard enough without a copycat on your tail, and Miranda's not about to let some imitation artist take her place.

Is it just me or is Miranda incredibly whiny? She always says how hard her life is and how she will never end up with a guy like Dex and then, surprise surprise she ends up with him. Okay writing and good friends (Charlie and Finn) saved this book. Otherwise, it sucked.

At Geek High, being extraordinary is ordinary. For Miranda Bloom, junior year hasn't quite started off on the right foot. Her boyfriend, Dex McConnell, is off at a Maine boarding school, and her best friends seem too preoccupied to care. When she meets new girl Nora Lee, Miranda thinks she's finally found a friend who really understands her. That is, until Nora begins to imitate everything Miranda does, from her outfits to her love of writing. And when this begins to effect her relationships, Miranda realizes she needs to end their toxic friendship - and fast. Miranda, Charlie, and Finn are back and better than ever in this latest addition to the GEEK HIGH series. Piper Banks once again brings readers a story about a geeky girl working through changing friendships and dealing with revenge. The author's multi-dimensional characters play off of one another with a sense of realism that hits close to home for any high schooler. REVENGE OF THE GEEK is the perfect read for the nerd in all of us!

I sincerely loved this book, but it ended abruptly. This left me wanted more. I would love to see more books from Piper Banks.

Shouldn't we have found out what Nora's "speciality" was? I liked it, but it was a downgrade from the other three books. I thought this would be the last one since all of Miranda's problems seemed solved, but after finishing this and reading about how all she was ready for the world, I dont think her story is dobe yet.

This is a really good book!! But you can't just jump in at the end. You have to read: geek high, geek abrod, and summetr of the geek so you won't be confused!!! Awesomeness!! Read 'em!!

This book (along with the rest of the series) is amazingly good. I just hope there's a next book and that it doesnt just end at this. Either way it was super enjoyable and the main character sort of reminded me of myself =)

This was such a fun read! It took me back to when I was in school but I was able to enjoy it instead of live-it. Miranda is an entertaining character who I couldn't help but connect with. Revenge of the Geek gets four stars.

Miranda Bloom is a genius who enjoys school. However, the brilliant Miranda feels this semester as a junior at Geek High will hurt. Her La Crosse playing boyfriend Dex McConnell (see Summer of the Geek for when they met) is going away to a boarding school in Maine. Miranda turns to her two BFFs, Finn and Charlie, but they have problems too so she does not want to burden them with her depression. She becomes friends with reticent new student Nora Lee. However, that makes her more depressed when Nora seems to be on a quest to prove she is Miranda's superior in anything and everything the latter does with acclaim. Still, her competitive juices flow as Miranda decides to teach this copycat that imitation is the highest form of flattery and can only achieve second place to the originator. The fourth Geek High teen tale (see Geek High and Geek Abroad; neither read by me) is an intelligent entertaining entry as Miranda struggles with new personal, social and family issues not easily resolved without honest communication for instance the gender war between her two best friends each trying to pull her onto their side. Young adult readers will appreciate Miranda's success and failures as her attempts to reach out to the newcomer turns ugly (shades of Clueless) and family decisions by her have come home to roost while tennis looks almost as good as lacrosse.
