Their wedding will be splashed across all the society pages as their friends and family gather to toast the glowing couple. Andy Sachs is on top of the world. But karma’s a bitch. Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Nearly a decade after The Devil Wears Prada, Weisberger revisits her heroine Andy Sachs—former assistant to the vicious Miranda Priestly of Runway magazine. Now the editor of her own wildly successful bridal magazine, Andy is about to marry media mogul Max Harrison. Although all seems to be going well, a series of events catapult Andy back to her self-conscious Runway days. Her image-obsessed mother-in-law (whose over the top snobbery makes her nearly indistinguishable from Miranda) thinks Andy isn't good enough for Max, and her business partner Emily wants to sell their magazine to Elias-Clark, the publisher of Runway, which would make Andy once again a servant to Miranda. Weisberger adds many plot elements that put Andy and her lifetyle in jeopardy—and while the resolutions won't shock—Andy's character is what drives the book, after all- this sequel is a fun summer read. Ten years after her uncouth exit from Runway magazine, Andy Sachs is back. Some things have changed—Emily is now her best friend—but so many things are just the same. New York is still full of beautiful overachievers wearing over-the-top fashions. As Emily and Andy embark on a joint business venture, Andy meets Mr. Right, and her old nemesis Miranda Priestly reappears on the scene. Will Andy be able to keep her life on track amid the oncoming storm of the devil herself? Sure to delight fans of the original, this follow-up offers characters, drama, and indulgent lifestyles to rival the original, but the contest ends there. While not quite as good as the first book, this work is still a great beach read. Megan Hilty creates a cast of characters that are well differentiated and classy or shameless, as appropriate. VERDICT Highly recommended for public libraries. Fans of the original or of Candace Bushnell's books will be running after this in their stilettos.—Lisa Anderson, Omaha P.L.
Kirkus Reviews
Weisberger's sequel to The Devil Wears Prada, a 2003 best-seller inspired by the author's time working for Anna Wintour at Vogue. It's been 10 years and Andy Sachs is still haunted by the memory of evil Miranda Priestly, her former boss at women's fashion bible Runway. No longer Miranda's lackey, Andy is now a successful writer and founder of a glossy wedding magazine called The Plunge. Andy's former co-worker at Runway, Emily, once an enemy, is now her best friend and business partner. And Alex, Andy's longtime boyfriend and first love, is with a new woman. As the book opens, Andy marries Max, investor in The Plunge and a great-guy-from-a-wealthy-family (whose mother briefly attempts to sabotage the nuptials). When Miranda finally resurfaces, wanting to acquire The Plunge, Andy must decide if she can compromise dignity for money. The plot doesn't heat up until the final third, when infidelity, backstabbing, betrayal and corporate shenanigans converge. By then there's a cute baby, too. As for Miranda: Be warned, she's in few scenes and not exactly the monster of hellion proportions fans remember. This is Andy's story--a story at times all over the place, with some questionable turns in logic, but with a happy, somewhat unexpected ending. The Devil is back…sort of. Not as fast-paced or exciting as the original, but diehard Prada fans will want to check it out.
