Editorial Reviews

From The Critics
Reviewer: Cathy Biskup, BS, RT (R)(CT)(United Regional Medical Services, Inc.)
Description: The new publication of this question and answer book is an excellent study and review guide for the radiologic technologist preparing for the advanced CT certificate examination. The book contains the necessary topics such as patient care, radiation protection, physics, image quality, and anatomy that are pertinent to the CT technologist.
Purpose: The purpose is to allow readers to evaluate their current level of CT understanding, to increase readers' knowledge by including brief explanations with the answers, and to refamiliarize readers with the process of taking multiple choice exams. This book is very much needed, especially since the introduction of the CT certificate exam.
Audience: Any CT technologist challenging his or her own knowledge of CT or preparing for the CT exam would find this book a necessary and useful source of information.
Features: The questions are challenging, and the answers with explanations provide an excellent deductive reasoning tool. The CT images are of good quality, with the anatomy well-defined. The annotations (numbers, lines, arrows) are well-placed within the illustrations. The references listed in the back of the book are separated by specific category, providing the reader additional sources for further study.
Assessment: The book offers its readers an overall review of questions and answers that are pertinent to the CT technologist for the CT certificate exam. I wish this book had been available when I was studying for the advanced CT certificate exam. This book would be a valuable resource for any radiology (CT) department library.
