Overview

Determined to live a dark life in the company of the assassin who freed her from bondage, Sarai sets out on her own to settle a score with an evil sadist. Unskilled and untrained in the art of killing, the events that unfold leave her hanging precariously on the edge of death when nothing goes as planned.

Sarai’s reckless choices send her on a path she knows she can never turn back from and so she presents Victor with an ultimatum: help her become more like him and give her a fighting chance, or she’ll do it alone no matter the consequences. Knowing that Sarai cannot become what she wants to be overnight, Victor begins to train her and inevitably their complicated relationship heats up.

As Arthur Hamburg’s right-hand man, Willem Stephens, closes in on his crusade to destroy Sarai, she is left with the crushing realization that she may have bitten off more than she can chew. But Sarai, taking on the new and improved role of Izabel Seyfried, still has a set of deadly skills of her own that will prove to be all she needs to secure her place beside Victor.

But there is one test that Izabel must face that has the potential to destroy everything she is working so hard to achieve. One final test that will not only make her question her decision to want this dangerous life, but will make her question everything she has come to trust about Victor Faust.

"This book is as hot and steamy as it is brutal and dark."

"In the second book of In the Company of Killers series the author gives us another thrilling assassin story with a dark and violent edge. Another fast-paced, fierce, and astounding book that reads like a movie script."

    Love it!

I really liked this series edgeing at times. I did not think I could finish it because it was getting a little graphic but I stuck it out. My only complaint is that it seems to be the last book in this series. I was not ready to give up the reads of Izeabel and Vicror. Can not wait for the next series of books she puts out!

    Great

I waited for a year to read the first book in the series so I could read it with the sequel back to back. I was a little nervous about this second book, having been disappointed with the sequel of The Edge of Never by this same author. Fortunately, this book did not disappoint and it was as good as the first one. The author does such a great job at showing the vulnerability of these very flaws characters, that you get emotionally attached to them and you become accepting of their behavior to survive in the violent world they live in. Simply terrific!

My review for book one can be found on my blog.

It's not very often that the sequel is just as good as (or even better than) the first book and I'm always surprised when it happens. In this case, I'd say that Reviving Izabel was better than Killing Sarai.

Let's talk Victor and Sarai. I enjoyed Sarai embracing her desire to stand on her own even if it meant putting herself in danger. I liked that she held strong to her decisions throughout the book. However, I less than liked her attachment to Victor and his to her. Is it too much to ask for a book like Reviving Izabel where the two main characters don't just magically fall into love? I firmly believe that a book can have a man and a woman be the main characters and then not have them fall in love with one another. It's possible. I mean, sure... if you've gotta have romance that's fine, but why does it need to just happen? I feel like given the characters and the circumstances love just shouldn't fall so easily into place. The seemingly senseless romance took away from my enjoyment of the book.

Now, on the other hand, we have Fredrik. He is the one I'm interested in. MORE, please! Since he's shown up, I wanted to learn more about him and by the end of this book, I just want inside his head to learn all his secrets. I'm glad to see that the next book in the series focuses on him. I'm definitely looking forward to reading it.

~Reviewed by FRANCESCA & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog

In the Company of Killers is exactly the type of series that it sounds like.  It’s dark and will test your comfort zones.  In REVIVING IZABEL I feel we went deeper into stretching my comfort levels.  Our heroine, Sarai, is supposed to be living an unassuming life away from the dangers of Victor’s lifestyle.  And away from her past.  But she can’t leave well enough alone.  She wants vengeance.

So Sarai will become Izabel again.  Where Sarai is a sweet normal girl, Izabel is daring and… a wannabe killer.  I was both attracted by this new tougher version of her, just as much as I was disturbed by some of her way of thinking.  The fact that she wants Victor is one thing, even the fact that she would just accept what his job is, but the fact that she wants to be like him really pushed my limits.  I didn’t know how to feel at times with that.

This story is definitely darker and edgier, while still being sexy and stimulating.  Victor opens up and softens a bit, showing his love for Izabel.  So as she toughens up, he softens.  I guess you could say they meet in a happy medium.  I still think I liked the first book better than this one, even though this was a good story.

The hero for the next book is set up in this one and I’m intrigued.  Can’t say I’m excited and highly anticipating it.  But it should be interesting.

    Highly Recommended

I loved this book. I really enjoyed Killing Sarai and this sequel was even better. The Edge of Never is by far my favorite book and J.A. Redmerski is becoming my favorite author. Reviving Izabel was one of the best sequels that I have read. It was full of surprises and the ending was fantastic. I would highly recommend this book to everyone.

This book was nothing short of amazing. Abolutely loved this book. Lots of surprises, I don't think I could have made the same choice at the end of the book that Sarai did, but felt that the ending was truly the way it should have been. So glad I read this series, will probably read this again. Can't wait to read Fireflies when it comes out. I also recommend reading her Edge of Always series. Love her writing.

Great book. My only complaint, very little sex. I don't like a lot but this was hardly enough to qualify as a romance.

    Love love love!

I fell in love with the first book and was so sad that I had to wait sooo long for this one to come out. It was def worth the wait though. The depth of the story and each character was just... phenominal :)
This was one of those exciting stories that I had to stay up all night to get to the next chapter because I coukdnt sleep if I didn't find out!
I like how she ended the book - no crazy cliffhangers or anything, but I can't wait for the next book to come out!
