Revolution II The Parables
Moving beyond conventional thinking toward Jesus' radical wisdom

(taken from back cover)
"...truly enlightens you to Jesus' alternative wisdom and invites us to
Think differently about our world."

Conventional wisdom teaches us to measure up, one to another. This broad path has created an endless quest for materialism and an earthly landscape filled with more competition than compassion and fleeting satisfaction. Jesus offers a different path. His radical wisdom invites us to think differently and see the world anew. His insight takes us from traditional ideas that have often enslaved us and present a subversive wisdom that enlightens us to a kingdom that is right here, right now, as well as beyond this earthly realm.

Jesus sparked a heart-felt revolution that led his fellow man away from the stringent and divisive purity laws and toward an intimate relationship with our God. Jesus' instruction continues to guide us away from legalism and toward love and compassion.

Written anonymously, the Revolution series reveals the spiritual journey of a former fundamentalist who found a more meaningful connection to God by delving into the genuine teachings of Jesus' parables apart from orthodox influence.

Revolution II--The Parables highlights Jesus' alternative wisdom that continues to turn the world upside-down. Today, legalism is prominent. It is time, once again, for another revolution...
A compassion revolution.

    Nicely done!

I was looking for a book for my Sunday School class that would take us through Jesus' parables and provide the group with discusion. This was a winner. It's often insightful and makes points not always brought up in the parables. It's written anonymously, but from teh research done on the topics, Revolution The Parables was written by someone who has a good working knowledge of Jesus and is passionate about His teachings.

While our group did not always agree necessarily with the opinions posed, we found it helpful and insigtful. It made for great discussion. This book is a good find for group study or an individual read in your recliner!

    Blessings to all...

    Surprised!

I really enjoyed this and to be honest, I didn't really think I would. You never know what you're going to get from anonymous authors, but this was a well-thought out and informative look at Jesus' teachings. Written with an artful combination of personal anecdotes and Christian scholarship, this is a thought-provoking shift from other religious books. I recommend this to anyone looking to learn more about Jesus ideas.

    more from this reviewer

    Refreshing and Different!

This is not your father's book about parables. Actually, it is quite a refreshing and unique look at Jesus' teachings written anonymously. It's a combination of funny, enlightening and informative. At first, I was a little concerned about the anonymity of the book, but again--this is different.

I checked out the "revolution's" website and indeed, this is not an allegedly pious group out for a buck. The focus is on the message. The author is critical of church, perhaps too much so in my opinion, but there is an earnest attempt to get to the heart of Jesus' ideas.

It's a quick read and a good one.

    Sharon
