Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
Whether you describe these raw poems from the indie music scene as "post-Beat" or "punk," they touch you with their knife-sharp authenticity. Revolution on Canvas collects verse from major voices in alternative rock, including Nate Barcalow from Finch; Mike Burkett from NOFX; Phil Pirrone from A Static Lullaby; and Alex Hovis from Who Killed Alex?

From the thoughts of an aspiring artist

When I first picked up this book I had thought "Hey cool, this book has a guitar on the cover." But it has turned out to be more than that. Rich Balling has managed to establish a beautiful collection of the most thought- provoking and inspiring songs, lyrics, and ideas that have created the artist. Without inspiration there would be no music, and eloquently bound within these pages is the music speaking for itself. The profound ideas of the indie music scene tantalize the minds of even the most ignorant of people bringing about a sense if question, and no answer. Five stars are given for me, who can honestly say this book has changed my life. I definitely suggest buying the sequel to this volume, to further extend the mystery of music in poetry prose.
