My engineer husband wanted this textbook to use as a reference tool. We paid big bucks to B&N, and after it came he only used it a few times before the binding broke. The book's pages were only connected to the cover by a single layer of paper at the back of the book. The front cover separated from the pages, and didn't look like it had really been fastened very securely in the first place. Because it had been more than 30 days since the book shipped by the time the binding broke, B&N "customer service" really didn't want to replace it. We're B&N members, have a B&N Mastercard, and have spent many hundreds of dollars with B&N over the past few years, and they acted as though we were trying to scam them. They finally agreed that just this once they'd let us get away with it. We'll certainly never buy another textbook, or anything that's going to get regular use, from B&N, and I'd recommend everyone else avoid them, too. They've been fine in the past for paperbacks or books that won't get much handling, but the quality of this book, and the very poor customer service was a real eye-opener.
