Excellent book, but not for a beginner

This book is loaded with information, but a beginner will find it a bit sketchy in places. There is an assumption that the reader will have a certain amount of experience and knowledge before reading this. Since I am just learning Linux, I found incomplete explanations of certain topics because it is assumed the reader already knows the information. What is covered is really helpful and generally well-explained, but I did have to consult other sources to get a complete understanding of all topics.

    Wow, who would have thought

The book is not bad but it falls far from great. The author does not seem to have a great UNIX background and it shows. Like any other books there are mistakes. I thought the book prepared me for the test but how well will never be known. I got ready to take the test and found it it's $750 I thought it would be the standard ~$150. I won't even to begin to comment what RH people are smoking when they came up w/that price. Well, at least I learned some Linux stuff I did not know.
