Overview

A beleaguered viscount is dragged through a hilarious adventure involving gypsies, pirates, and wild animals in an attempt to win the heart of his betrothed.

Rhiannon, with her dancing blue eyes and mischievous nature, would rather roll in pigswill than marry a suitor not of her choosing. She bolts from her determined father when she discovers that once again he has arranged for her to marry, this time to the infamous 'dark count', Earl Stanwyck. Her informant, however, heard incorrectly, leaving Rhiannon unaware that her true betrothed is the darkly handsome viscount Jarreth Stanwyck, young nephew of the earl and heir to his entire fortune.

Jarreth, also not thrilled with his uncle's arrangement, is leisurely on his way to decline her when a chance meeting at a lake brings the two together. They hide their identities from each other, she posing as a simple peasant, and he pretending to be a lowly knight on a mysterious mission. He instantly falls in love with her playful and independent spirit, as well as her hilarious stories of her past shenanigans.

After learning her true identity, he continues his ruse in an attempt to win her heart, only to learn that the best-laid plans can overwhelmingly backfire.

An hilarious Medieval story!! The best!!

OK, I laughed my head off with this book. The main character, Rhiannon, is a headstrong girl determined not to marry the men her father makes 'arrangements' with. She meets her match when she finds out she is to marry the 'Dark Count'. He does not sound like he is one to be discouraged, so she runs off to hide. From there on the story just gets funnier and funnier. I see a little of me in this character. If you want to laugh, cry, and feel good at the end, read this book, the last of the medieval books from this author. (tears) PLease Ms. Stratton, write more, more, more!

The Best Book I Ever Read

I have never felt so many different emotions in one book before! I bought the book, to research another version of the history to my name. I ended up feeling apart of the characters in the book.

It's not just a beautiful cover, it's a beautiful story too.

I, like so many others, have read the Lady Trilogy. I loved the characters and thought it was very well writen. I also like the way Ms. Stratton incorperates true historical facts into her stories. Read Rhiannon! You will not be disapointed! You'll only wish there was a sequel.

Funny historical by my favorite author!

I love Evangelynn Stratton books. This one is great, if you like the medieval era. This book has everything--gypsies, dark counts, horses with personalities. I also like the fact that this author gives you some background history so you can understand the era and the time she is writing about. I would give it 10 stars if I could!

    Camelots- King Arthur and Gweneviere

This seems to be a very familiar storyline, like that of the old movie called Camelot with Vanessa Redgrave as Gweneviere. It starts out very similar as the story of Rhiannon. I actually became interested in this story of Rhiannon- based on the song by Stevie Nicks. It's a beautiful story. I'm sure I'm not the only one who was inspired by the song or Stevie Nicks.
