Purpose: The book is designed to combine maternity and pediatric basic information to build a strong knowledge base and assist with the development of maternal/pediatric clinical decision making skills.
Audience: Maternity and pediatrics nursing students and staff nurses caring for obstetric and/or pediatric patients are the intended readers. The authors are knowledgeable authorities in maternity/pediatric nursing.
Features: Each chapter includes features called "Consider This" to engage students in scenarios to facilitate critical thinking and "Take Note!" to emphasize important material. Numerous pictures, tables, nursing care plan boxes, and teaching guidelines reinforce content.
