Following the model of his popular "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" series, Kiyosaki has created a graphic novel for upper elementary and middle-schoolers demonstrating his financial strategies. The story in pictures follows a turtle and a mouse in their early teens who are trying to figure out how they can earn money so that they have funds available for things like amusement parks and comic books. The mouse has previously learned that working hard for low pay may not be the best way to earn money. He explains to the turtle that they should look for creative opportunities in their lives to capitalize on businesses of their own, a theory that he has learned from reading books on financial education including the biography of Robert Kiyosaki. Kiyosaki too, wanted to learn how to make money at a young age. His best friend's father taught them the hard way that money is more meaningful and long-lasting if you figure out how to make it yourself instead of relying on an employer to pay you. This book also references other titles by Kiyosaki as well as board games and websites that pertain to the "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" series. The financial information is good, although the language used to explain it may limit the audience. The author's choice of animals as characters allows the reader to put themselves in the shoes of the characters and imagine being creative about making money. Reviewer: Rachel Myers
