    Great book! Less than useful maps

    Overall a great book. Maps cannot be enlarged rendering them essentially useless. Which is why it received four stars.

    Highly recommended

    I currently live in Rome, and keep stacks of Rick's guides for myself and for my visitors. His guide to Rome is practical, thorough, easy-to read, and has enough interesting bits of information that it is useful for anyone from a day-tripper to a long-time resident. If you are planning a trip to Rome, you will want to read this guide and take it with you... you won't need any others!

    My husband and I just returned from a wonderful trip to Rome and

    My husband and I just returned from a wonderful trip to Rome and this book made it even better. Prior to our trip we purchased a number of guides but this was the only one we needed. It contains your standard information (list of highlights, places to eat, places to stay, etc.) but also detailed "tours" of Rome's most interesting spots. I thought the tours were very helpful as they point out the highlights of each place (I have a background in ancient history and they even included some things I didn't know) without getting into boring details. I would highly highly recommend this book!!!!!!!
