If you like historical novels, you will love this one!

I don't usually get too emotional over a book but I actually cried at the end. Ms. Robson did a wonderful job of bringing the Comanche's to life along with the plight of one young girl born white but lived most of her life with the comanche's and wanted to stay forever with her comanche family!

This is the Best Book I've Ever Read

What can I say that the others haven't? The detail with which Lucia writes makes you feel as if you were actually there, feeling the feelings, smelling the smells, tasting the tastes. It's the 3D of writing and it's better than the movie version. I actually lost weight reading this book, because I couldn't put it down long enough to eat!

The Best Book I Have Ever Read

This is without a doubt the best book I have ever read. I've read it atleast 15 times & cry everytime. It haunts me for months aftr I finish it. The story itself is fascinating but the way St Clair puts it together it phenomenal. I recommend it to anyone who has even a slight interest in the Comanches. I, like St Clair, was hooked once I read about Cynthia Ann Parker and would appreciate any books anyone has read about Parker

    My favorite book, bar none!

I have re-read this book several times since I first read it twelve years ago. It is a remarkable novel. St. Clair really gets the details of the Comanche way of life molded into a very captivating and enthralling book. I can still barely find a stopping point when I read this book.

    Highly recommended

This book was very special to me as Cynthia Parker was a relative on my daughter-in-laws side, and they named their daughter Cassidee as they are related to butch cassidy, and her middle name is Parker after Cynthia, so I will cherish and keep this book for Cassidee Parker Zanoth... I have always loved what I call covered wagon stories, but I must say this was excellently written, I also recently purchased two more books from this author.. I feel if the other books she wrote are a good as this one, then I want to read them...

    Amazing!

Im never emotional over books, but I cried at the end, and its inspired me. This books amazing, and the author goes to such detail, your basically there, at Cynthias side, as she meets the Comanche, her foster family. I dont think I will ever stop rereading this book! Ive cried, smiled and learned alongside Cynthia. This is a must read, and dont be discouraged at the beginning, because the beginning is violent, but its an amazing book and youll love it & wont be sorry you picked this one up! Five stars!

    Great read

I read my paperback at least 20 times! This book is at least 25 years old, and based on a true event, you will be caught up in the native american life stolen by the white mans greed. I have native american blood in my family. I now understand as an adult the stories told to me by my grandmother. I am not of this tribe, however . It will change your veiws of our greed and the red mans hatred of us

    Recommended read. Check it out.

Well written with very good details. The research in writing this book must have been very intensive to have the details it has about the life of the Native Americans.

A sad chapter in American history.

The Comanches really were savages, but then, so were the whites who exterminated them. This is a very sad chapter of American history.
