Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
What should you do with this book? Read it aloud, suggests the author, because tongue twisters are for "twisting your tongue around." The book's nine short chapters are filled with 185 original tongue twisters. Each chapter is a collection of twisters with a specific theme. Chapter 2, for example, is titled Where Bears Be There, Beware and is filled with tongue twisters from the animal kingdom. Chapter 7, Short but Sweet, has only one-line tongue twisters. And, if for some twisted reason, you need a tongue twister about a specific subject, you will find an index at the end of the book. Each page is illustrated with black and white cartoon drawings. Ridiculous, yes, but lacking the zip and the zing of old favorites. 2003, Sterling Publishing Co, Ages 7 to 9.
