Editorial Reviews

Risque Reviews - Jona F
I immediately liked this short book, RIDING RODEO, by Emma Lai from the moment I
opened the first page. The attraction between the main characters Amanda and Sean is described so vividly, it's almost impossible not to be instantly engrossed and want to keep reading.

Meet the Author

Emma likes nothing more than a challenge. First, she tackled the male-dominated field of engineering. Next, she expanded her understanding of the world by studying international relations. Finally, her husband dared her to use her experience and knowledge and devote herself to writing. She accepted his challenge and has been writing ever since.

Writing keeps Emma sane. Her characters demand their stories be told and nag her incessantly until she complies. The characters are very insistent about her remaining faithful to their individual adventures. As a result, Emma writes a range of genres and levels of heat. She never know what the next set of characters will demand!

Amanda is not pleased that "Rodeo" is standing inside

Amanda is not pleased that "Rodeo" is standing inside her bakery, the damned bronc rider has the nerve! She spend the most deliriously delicious night of her life with him, and then he snuck out afterwards never to be heard of again. Bristling she sends him backing before noticing he'd been hurt.

Deciding to leave Rodeo way behind her she sets out to find some other cowboy to scratch her itch and get Rodeo of her mind. And she has her sights on Bret, maybe he'll be just the way to forget about Rodeo.

Sean's few months of recovery have set his mind ablaze, and he wants a new shot with Amanda - knowing he's hurt her he tries to come up with a way to make it all up to her and tell her how he's felt all this past year and a half. So when he sees Amanda with Brett at the bar, he plans to make one of Amanda's fantasies come true, if he can convince Brett to come home with both of them.

"Riding Rodeo" is a story of wanting back what once was neglected. I liked the set up, I liked how bristling Amanda was and how she was still reliving the incredibly passionate night, and deep inside wanting Sean back, but so afraid of getting hurt again. The ‘I want it, but it's so not good for me’ plot worked great and this erotic romance was smoking hot! I'm pretty sure most girls wouldn't mind getting their hands on Rodeo as well! ;)

The background on both Amanda and Sean was sufficient, you could tell this wasn't just about hooking up, "Riding Rodeo" was about a second chance at making things work and never letting go of what you got! Bret's supporting role (wink wink) was actually perfect he was sweet, handsome and had that little kink side as well to bring on the whole ménage without it being crude or cheap. Well done!

If you are into cowboys who can perform both on the circuit and in the bedroom then you want to check this out. The story is good, the writing believable and the characters wonderfully addictive - you absolutely must read the whole novella to see how this gonna end. See it's not just about the act, but about the story too!
