When Charlotte’s rich uncle passes away and leaves his ranch to her, the lonely city girl finds herself in an unfamiliar world. Before long, she meets the rugged, kind, and capable Luke, a handsome and capable cowboy with a gentleman's air.
Luke is more than happy to show her the ropes, and despite coming from different worlds, they soon find they do share one thing: an intense longing for each other that quickly leads to passion and romance.
I couldn’t suppress the giggle.
“What?” he asked, feigning defensiveness.
“You just don’t seem like the type that would enjoy watching the sunset or doing something that romantic.”
“What, I can’t enjoy some simple beauty?” he sidled closer to me on the blanket. “I am actually quite the romantic.”
“How’s that?” I asked.
“Well, like now even, I’m glad to get to end the day with two wonderful sights.”
He tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear. I felt a rush of electricity jolt through me at the barest touch.
“The sunset and you.”
Luke pulled off his hat, leaned over and kissed me hard. His tongue pushed between my lips and into my mouth. Instinctively, I wrapped my arms around his neck. He took control, easing me down onto the blanket. I ran my fingers through his unruly hair and returned his kiss with the same passion.
