Women called him the perfect storm because he could sweet-talk any woman into his bed, and regularly did so. Firefighter Storm Westmoreland used lovemaking the way other men used a long, hot shower--to blow off steam. Until a torrid weekend with a too-hot-to-handle virgin left a certain legendary player craving something other than mere physical gratification....
Caught in the eye of the storm, Jayla Cole was no match for the sexy fire chief or the emotional inferno he ignited inside her. But would she be satisfied with the mind-blowing, sex only relationship she shared with Storm, or was starting a family on her own still what she desired more than anything?

A die hard romantic that I am is the reason I love BJ books so much...her books always take me to another world...although I can read most of her books in a day, I still love them...you have to be a true romantic to appreciate her creativity...in my romantic mind my dream men are every man she describes in her books in detail...especially the perfect storm!!!

All while reading this book, I had the urge to throw it against the wall. This book did not make sense. The plot was ridiculous. The heroine, Jayla is child-like and indecisive. Her motive for getting artificially inseminated, as a virgin, is ludicrous. We are supposed to believe an educated woman would bring a child into the world just because she is lonely and wants someone to love and love her in return? Why can't she love herself? To make matters worse, she asks for the specimen to come from what she deems a carbon copy of the hero, Storm Westmoreland. That way, the child will resemble him. Now I ask you, if she lives in the same town as the hero, wouldn't there be speculation as to whether a child, who looks exactly like him, is really his? This book made no sense. Characters are transparent and this experience has been a total waste of time.

Everyone of Brenda Jacksons that I have ever read is bold, energizing, exciting and keep you on the edge books. Her books are the kind of books that you can get caught and lost in they take you to another world.

Like alway's this is just another great love story from Mrs. Jackson. I love the Westmoreland clan. When can we expect another Westmoreland story?

Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged. This is probably the third or maybe the fourth BJ book I have read, and I must say she is book-by-book moving to my must read list. While this was not my favorite of the books by her that I have read (check out Irresitable Forces for that) I really liked this book.
The character's could have been hard to relate to because their way of thinking isn't necessarily what one would expect to find in the romance genere (he wants a woman, whenever he finally decides to settle down, that will stay at home to raise kids while he is the sole support; she believes there is no man out there for her and all men are controlling like her father), it think the author did a good of job of explaining by the end of the book why the each had come to their perspective. There was a bit of a role reversal between the two main characters which I actually appreciated.
At 124 pages on my Nook, it is a quick read (I finished it in a day) and I will probably read it again. I'm not sold on the Westmoreland clan yet, but I am definately going to check out more books by this author.

If you want a very quick read then this book is for you. The Love scence is HOT. I plan to re-read this one again. Mrs. J is a wonderful author, and the plot was very different, but great.
