I'm glad to find a book with depth about John Wilkes Booth.Throughout time we have gotten a rather shallow story of snap judgement in his obsession to kill Lincoln, this couldn't be further from the truth. He was tormented by it,thought about it constantly, and maybe if he would have given a second longer to think about it,possibly he would have not assasinated Lincoln.I thought I'd hate him,but instead what I found was a brillant actor, highly intellegent, and stunningly beautiful with depth, demons and real life issues.I found myself feeling sorry for him, rather than hating him for what he did.

His writing is graceful, and the few personal letters that survived sketch out a very human, very likeable man... indeed it left me feeling as though I should have certainly have liked him, and mourning his unfortunate, misguided political views.
