    A reviewer

The book The Ringmaster's Secret 'Nancy Drew' is a great book written by Carolyn Keene. In this story there is an evil ringmaster who adopted a girl named Lolita. Have you ever read a book so suspenseful? If you want to this is the book for you. This book is about Lolita and Pietro wanting to get married, but Lolita's foster father won't let her. So Nancy joined the circus dressed up as her best friend, Bess, so the evil ringmaster (Lolita's foster father) won't know it is Nancy. The message that the author wants to share is that if you are cruel it won't get you anywhere except it will make everyone hate you. I think this book is great and very mysterious at all times. Other people that may like it are people that enjoy the mystery genre. It is so that this book is called The Ringmaster's Secret. If you choose to read this book you will not want to put the book down at night, in the morning, or even the afternoon.

This mystery revolves around a circus and his best aerial perfor

This mystery revolves around a circus and his best aerial performer. Her parents were supposedly killed in an accident and the cruel ringmaster and his wife have raised Lolita. Nancy receives a bracelet from her Aunt who tells her in a letter that a mystery revolves around it. Nancy finds that it is related to the circus and proceeds to investigate. As always, the story is great and draws you in immediately.

Remember that these books are not aimed at adults. I have read some bad reviews on Nancy Drew books and that disappoints me. These books are not aimed at adults or even teenagers. My 8-year old is reading them. She is intrigued by the mysteries and enjoys telling me all her new theories. Below is my review of the whole series.

I remember having the whole set of Nancy Drew books when I was young... at least a full set to the date I stopped reading them. Too bad my mom didn't keep them. I started collecting them several years back, partly for me and partly for my daughter. When I decided to introduce the original series to her, I felt a little weird because I figured they were completely outdated. What I found out is that these books are eternally phenomenal and I truly believe schools should be using them in the classrooms.

My daughter loves the mysteries and enjoys telling me her theories on who did it. And the text is not dumbed down. I spoke to my children the way I would speak to anyone, large vocabulary words and all. The Nancy Drew books do the same. It is wonderful because I explain the meaning of the words that she does not understand and she is learning quickly how to sound out large words and foreign names, i.e. Nguyen. I do have to explain some things that are out of date, i.e. words that are no longer used much or items that are no longer used anymore. Her reaction is hilarious when she finds out how we used to do or say things way back then, because I am so ancient!

And best of all, when we read the books together, I get sucked right back into them. I read these books with my mom and now I am reading them with my daughter. It is wonderful and all of the books are so good. We finished this one a couple of weeks ago and she thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend these books.
