Meet the Author

Cristiano Nogueira had been hosting hundreds of international friends in his Ipanema apartment, until he realized his recommendations where getting better and better, especially for those looking to enjoy Rio's nightlife as well as beach life. Given the lack of quality travel guides to Rio, he decided to design one for the young market, which not only means a "Wild On" type travel, but an easier-to-read book with opinionated tips. Rio for Partiers was born in 2003, after one year of research, writing, and partnerships with local establishments that offer the readers freebies and discounts.

"Rio for Partiers" is a comprehensive tour guide to partying in Rio, with plenty of visually arresting photographs of Rio's color and scenery. Includes sections on:

    -Brazilian foods you must try
    -Pub crawls
-Tours of Santa Teresa, the Botanical Gardens, and other cultural attractions
-Silly things the locals do for fun
-Ways to give back, through charities and mission, without falling victim to "predators of your pity" (great phrase!)
-Shopping excursions and great restaurants in downtown Rio
-What you'll need before setting out. Don't miss this section––you may think you know what you need on your trip, but you probably don't.

Did I mention this book has incredible images? Because it does. There's not a page in the book without photos; you could "read" this book for the photos alone. Just steer clear of the food section––I took one look at it and I wanted to go to Brazil yesterday.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to vacation in Rio de Janeiro. Even people who are not very into partying, who just want to relax, can find plenty of things to do in this book.
