The scenes are set so perfectly that I felt like I was there as well, plenty of detail but a rapid flow as if each moment were flying by in real time. This is the kind of book that you want to read and chatter about with your friends (I bought and mailed a copy to my friend)! This will have you swooning and sighing, rigid with tension, and laughing as well.

Romance, history, and one of the most enduring legends of all time … a combination you can't beat! In Ripper: A Love Story, we watch the unfolding of the romance between Coren, an indomitable heroine with a reckless drive to save the poor and downtrodden, and Prince Albert. A lot of the story centers on Coren's almost sisterly relationship with her maid, Jenny, with lots of amusing exchanges as Coren drags the poor lady into the seedier sides of the city. What neither one knows is that a serial killer is prowling the streets of Whitechapel, making their forays much more dangerous. Even more dangerous is who that killer might actually be. I don't want to give too much away, and the Ripper mystery does remain intact. But you'll enjoy a peek into society during this time period and a young woman with a lot of guts.

Great love story that mixes in lots of intrigue. Still mystified by the ending.
