Meet the Author

Ever since his early day as a labour lawyer, Sid Green has been a controversial fixture of Manitoba politics. He helped the NDP to their first electoral victory in 1969, then served as a cabinet minister in Ed Schreyer's ground-breaking administration. After deciding not to challenge Howard Pawley as Schreyer's replacement for NDP leader, Green struck out on his own by forming the Progressive Party. Lobbing shells from the sidelines at sacred cows of the mainstream political parties, he maintained his controversial reputation for many more years.
