    The Most Hated Fictional Villain

This book is the story of Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader. It begins with a three year old Anakin Skywalker going with his slave mother, Shmi, to live on Tatooine. It tells about Anakin before he meets Qui-Gon and his padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi. Then the story is told quickly of The Phantom Menace. The story then tells of what happened between The Phantom of Menace and Attack of the Clones. Then it tells what happened between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. It goes on relating the story this way until Return of the Jedi. Anakin is a teen easily influenced by his own feelings and his conflict of what is right and wrong. Unfortunely for Anakin that is how he becomes the hated and cruel Darth Vader. However, the story tells of Vader's conflict within his own mind trying to justify his actions as the ruthless Sith. This is not shown in the last three Episodes of Star Wars movies. Vader is portrayed as a man trying to forget his past with Obi-Wan and Padme and his allegiance to the Jedi teachings, but it haunts him and surfaces from time to time even though he tries to bury it in deeply in his mind. The book reveals Vader's inner conflict and more insight as to why he saves his son, Luke, in the end of Return of the Jedi. It is a great book for young readers between the ages of 8-12 years old. It teaches them how the choices we make in life can determine our destiny as a human being. I am an adult who first saw Star Wars: The New Hope in the theater in 1977. I really enjoyed this book. As a former educator I would even recommend it as a suitable book for a school library and even reading it in the classroom. It is hard for preteens and teens to make the right choices in life. This book is an example of a young one who takes the wrong path and not only causes suffering for others, but for himself as well.

Awesome book. Would make great movie.

I have the book and i thought it was amazing. It really gets into the life of anakin skywalker from when he arived at tatooine when he was 3 years old until he is shown as a ghost on endor in return of the jedi. It also gets in with his emotions in each scene. It doesnt tell about everything that they showed in the movies like when anakin and obi wan go to rescue palpatine in revenge of the sith. it summarizes some stuff but really puts the movie scene in your head at the parts it does get into such as the podrace in the phantom menace. There is other stuff in there also such as when c3po's parts are found outside watto's junkyard. He was a very powerful character in the 6 movies ( clone wars does not count guys. Its based of a tv show). By that i mean that he was a big, big, big part of the movies as bouth darth vader and skywalker. The book really shows that. Overall AMAZING book worth buying. I would definetly recomend this book to anyone.

I expected this book to have deeper thoughts, but if you are a fan, this is the book for you. It is a relatively easy read.

    No NOOK Version

I haven't read it because there isn't a Nook version. Supposedly one can be requested but I don't see any place to do so. It's really disappointing because it looks very promising.

Also, B&N NOOK needs to increase their stock and variety, like Amazon. I really wish I had the Kindle.

Copyright drivel ..May the Farce be with you..if you read this

For the true Star Wars fan, this is/will be a very blase rip off. Over 2/3 of book is from the movie storyline.. verbatim. If you take out movie exerps? Book is maybe 30 pgs original . I gave it 1 star just because of original content from movie not authors contributions.as Yoda says "do or do not" and the author "did not" .

    A reviewer

This book was extremely disappointing! I bought this book thinking that it would give deep/inside thoughts as to what Anakin/Darth Vader was thinking and feeling as he lived his life but it was the exact opposite. Unfortunately the book is full of quotes from the movies and very little of the deep thoughts that Anakin/Vader had that I was looking for. It states the obivious at times, other times it just tells parallel's the movie, only touching on the parts that Vader is in. It was VERY disappointing to say the least.
