    Check it out-- Great story

A very involved continuation of the story of the Beladors.
If you haven't the previous books. you may have a little trouble following the story line. It's very complicated, but worth every minute .

Rise of the Gryphon by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love is the 4

Rise of the Gryphon by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love is the 4th book in their Belador series. I love Evalle, who is one of my favorite kickass heroines.

Throughout this series, we have suffered with Evalle, as the Goddess Macha continues to push her to the brink, not to mention Sen, who is always looking to destroy her. Evalle has always been loyal to the Beladors; constantly putting her life on the line, and yet she is not fully appreciated. Because she is an Alterant, she is always threatened to lose her freedom with imprisonment. WILL EVALLE EVER BE TOTALLY FREE??

Since this is an early review, I will stay away from spoilers, but still try to give you an idea about this book.
In Rise of the Gryphon, Evalle is ordered by Macha to find Alterants and bring them to her before the Medb gets them, but she only has a few days. Such love for someone who just saved them.

Storm, who I also have grown to love, is with Evalle, as they search for Tristan & the Alterants. Storm makes himself perfectly clear to Evalle….he loves her. He will do anything to protect and save Evalle. Does he?? Only time will tell.

The evil Queen Flaevynn is still the major villain in this series, as she leads the Medb in a plot to destroy the Beladors. Rivaling “Mommy Dearest”, Flaevynn treats her daughter Kizira worse then an enemy. So much so, that you find yourself feeling sympathy for Kizira, who has been a thorn against the Beladors. But is Kizira truly bad, since she is being compelled by her mother to hurt the Beladors, or is she really in love with Quinn?

The focus of this story is can Evalle find Tristan and all the Alterants, before the Medb take them? Evalle and Storm will travel to participate in the Achilles Beast Championship, which is a fight to the death; with the winners (all Alterants), then joining Medb, in an offer they cannot refuse. It is up to Evalle to find a way to stop Medb, rescue the Alterants, and help save Brina and the Beladors.

Every book in this series is great, but Rise of the Gryphon is the best one so far. This was such an exciting adventure, filled with tension, bloody fights, various beasts, betrayals, danger, and so many moments you feared for your heroine. Without giving any spoilers, there was a wonderful part that we have been waiting for. There was also another part of the book that had me very sad, surprisingly so. When you read this book, you will know what I am talking about.

So many questions were answered: Why is Evalle so wanted by the Medb? Does Kizira really care about Quinn? What kind of powers does Lanna have? Will Storm and Evalle finally come together? Will we ever stop loving Feenix, our cute lovable gargoyle…….nah forget that, never happen. I want more Feenix.

Rise of the Gryphon was non stop action all the way. The ending, another major battle, was totally awesome; you never knew what was coming next. There were so many surprises and twists that I sat at the edge of my seat absorbing it all and then letting the shocks wear off. As I said earlier, so many questions were answered. and so many more new ones opened up.

I loved this book so much, that when the last page came, I kept looking for more, thinking there must be missing pages. Sigh. Now I have to wait a year. I will end by saying I love Evalle; love the Kenyon/Love duo; love love the Belador series. Rise of the Gryphon is great. If you have not read this series, once again, what are you waiting for?

    Best one yet!

I love Evalle and she kicks but as always in this latest book. Things heat up between her and Storm and she becomes even more powerful. Again, I am left yearning for the next book already.

    more from this reviewer

Throughout the first three books of this series Alterant Evalle

Throughout the first three books of this series Alterant Evalle has proven herself time and again to the Beladors, the Tribunal and to Macha.  In this installment Evalle’s honor and loyalties will be stretched to the point she may just break.  While trying to honor her agreement to Macha to get Alterants recognized Evalle is put in a position at odds with the Beladors.  What is a girl to do but keep on keeping on and try to do her best and what is right.
The back cover of this book promised answers and you get some but they only create more questions.  This is what this pair of authors does best.  Action, adventure, mystery, and a touch of romance.  I can’t wait for the next installment.

    I Also Recommend:

Fabulous read!  Loved this fourth installment of the Belador ser

Fabulous read!  Loved this fourth installment of the Belador series!

First, let's take a moment to admire this cover. How bad ass does Evalle look in this? They say "Don't judge a book by its cover" but this one, I feel, really sets the mood for the book.

You got the mystic purple background which tells you there's some major magical stuff happening within these pages. The great bat winged horse sword that I just salivate over, and then I love the play on the eyes.  You have the super hot Evalle and her glowing green eyes and in the sword's blade, you have reflected some creepy beast with the same eyes.

Given all of this, I still had no idea what was going to be coming at me when I opened this book.  I am a huge fan of the Baledor series.  Each book is like watching an entire season of your favorite television show. I say this because you don't just follow Evalle but Sherrilyn and Dianna introduce you to some absolutely wonderful characters who have their own thoughts and actions. They're not just there to support Evalle, they have their own lives and you want to know what is going down with them.

This series is known for its cliffhanger endings but Book 3 was the first time I didn't put down the book and curse two of my favorite Author Goddesses and demand blood for the next book.

Its hard to talk about this series without giving things away. There are so many twist and turns. But I will say that the story did not go where I thought it was.  Dianna and Sherrilyn are masters of upping the ante and making you wonder how Evalle is going to get out of this.

We open the book up on a Beast Championship where magical creatures battle off against each other for sport. Kind of like a dog fight but with supernaturals and lots of magic.

Aside for the sheer entertainment of it, our heroine, Evalle, and her hunky Skinwalker panther, Storm, find out that the Medb - our villains - are offering some very powerful magic to those who can win a place in the ABC (Achilles Beast Championship) and win. What's more, the Medb want five Alterants (such as Evalle) for some unknown reason.

On top of needing for get to the bottom of the ABC and why by Medb are gathering Alterants, Evalle's goddess, Macha, demands that at least five Alterants of her own (after all if the Medb want five, so does she) or she will revoke her offer to claim Alterants as part of her pantheon and, thus, will not protect them.

Think that's bad?  Its just the beginning.

Loved this book but now I need the next. This book leaves you both satisfied and wanting at the end.  I just need to know what happens next!

This is my favorite book in the series, so far. So much happens

This is my favorite book in the series, so far. So much happens in this book! We learn all kinds of new information, get a lot of answers, and a lot happens with all the characters. This book really moves the series along. Some of the dilemmas from the previous books are resolved, but when one door closes, another one opens. There is so much that can happen from this point! It will be interesting to see where it goes from here! Hurry up book #5! The anticipation is killing me!
