This is easily one of Salvatore's best book. Salvatore has always been good at writing beautiful combat scenes and he is at his best here as the action is plentiful. There are several different characters, with various paths, all drawn in by the events going on in the book, and you remain interested in every single one of them. The stakes are high and with every page, you are wonder what will happen and how will the characters get through unscathed, if they get through alive at all.

Finally R.A. Salvatore is back to his best. Writing the way he used to and not trying to write teenage love novels where everyone gets along.

I'm from abroad and I'm sorry for my not very good english (I'm reading in english better than speak or write... ) I'm determinated in reading every part of Drizzt's history becouse that history is amazing - including Rise of The King. Fast action, unique adventures and endearing characters - this is all what I want from book and all of this I can find in ROTK. Thank you, Mr. Salvatore!

Pardon my fan-girl squee because Drizzt is back in this book!  This book seemed particularly hard to put down. As always, lots going on, some of the same villains are back with some of the same friends.  The Companions are here of course, but Jarlaxle and Connerad play their parts, too.  Lots of orcs and goblins to defeat.  The only quibble I have is that some characters are left in pretty dire straits at the end and I need to know when the next book is coming out.  Great fun.  Received free copy for review.

Again the Companions of the Hall are second to none. Lots of excitement and the book moves along at a fast pace. Loved it!
