Coming home again to Keeneston! Definately a must read in Kathl

Coming home again to Keeneston! Definately a must read in Kathleen
Brooks' Bluegrass series!! Marshall Davies is now the sherriff - and
he just cannot help himself from picking on former model now vet Katelyn
Jacks. Could Marshall have a bit more competition then he can handle as
Katelyn and Ahmed get closer while she tends to a dog brutally mauled
and used in an international dog-fighting ring? I think this is the
best yet in the Bluegrass series! I absolutely loved this book! I
chuckled outloud well into the early hours of the morning as I devoured
this lastest installment. Poor Marshall LOL!!!

    Pit bulls arent bad

I have to say i am most disappointed. Ive read all her books and was extremely disappointed when i was reading this and how she portraits pit bulls. They are not dangerous dogs. Its people like her who paint this picture of these loveable dogs as monsters. I will never read another book she writes. Punish the deed not the breed. I have a pit bull and she gives nothing but love and kisses. Clearly this writer hasnt been educated or around pit bulls to know how loving and friendly nature they have. Us humans are the guys. We try to train them to kill, we are the bad guys. Go research oggy, wallace, hector, see how lovable and harmless they are!

    great series

I have really enjoyed all of the books in this series. I want to see Ahmed's story. Doesn't seem fair that he always has to give up the girl. Can't wait to read about everyone again.

    more from this reviewer

Definate must read. Another great book in this series.

Another great book in the Bluegrass series.
This is the story of Marshall the town sheriff. He is the new sheriff and has a one night stand with Katelyn, a spoiled rich girl model. Or so he thinks. He can't seem to get her off his mind, especially since she is the one to sneak out. She is the new veterinarian in town and has to see him often. Many weird things have been happening and throws them together. Many dogs have been found around town and they are badly injured. Katelyn comes to the rescue and saves the dogs. This story was very good and easy to follow along. Loved the story and did not want to put the book down. All my old favorite characters make an appearance. Definitely want to read the whole series, but can just read this only. Better if read in order.
My favorite character is Ahmed and hopes he finds love and gets his own book. Can't wait for the next in the series.

    EXCELLENT WEEKEND READ!!!

Loved this addition to an already great series. I recommend the entire series of course, but this one will be fine as a stand alone read as well. The characters and their lives make for enjoyable fast paced page turning.

    Bluegrass series

This is a fun series, but this particular story could use a stronger rewrite. Rising Storm features the former model now veterinary surgeon, whose father is an obnoxious hotel chain magnate, and whose grandparents are full of old-fashioned southern charm, and her rough start relationship with Marshall Davies, now town sheriff, who is full of himself and makes erroneous assumptions about the heroine's background and attitudes. Love the characters in the series, but this novel feels choppy. More background about who Marshall is, his family and the town history and characters is needed early on. Too much is dropped in that fans of the series will recognize, but first time readers who start with this novel will find choppy and confusing. The prologue would have been better pulled in as flashbacks - it feels disconnected from the rest of the story, and although the plot is driven by the dog fighting ring, the character development isn't smooth. The initial series, and later Ahmed's story are better. Nonetheless, this earns three stars for concept, occassional fun dialogue, and the way the story builds in the best and worst of rural small town life.

    Ugh

Does this get any better? I'm on page 160 and it's just so painful to read. The writing is just so awkward and juvenile. I struggled through the first one in this series, but promised myself I would give it another shot. This offering is just too much work to actually enjoy.

Great addition to the series, this one is probably my favorite so far.
These are both romantic and suspenseful, and clean enough that you
aren't ashamed to lend them to your family and friends. . I love the
meddling Rose sisters, but please tell me there is a story for Ahmed in
    the future.

    Fabulous

I always love going back for a visit in Keeneston. This book was very entertaining and let's you go back and see how some of the other characters are doing. I love Kathleen, she has become one of my favorite authors. Being from Kentucky, she does a great job of setting up that small town, country feel.
