I have lived in Louisiana all of my life and this cookbook is THE cookbook to have. All of the recipes follow real LA cooking (not what is perceived) and are absolutely delicious.

I am a native New Orleanian. My parents were both born and raised in New Orleans. Cajun cooking is second nature to us. My mom has all 3 of these cookbooks. They are wonderful! Very basic and practical - no fancy pages or pictures here. The content is what's key. You will find few Cajun cookbooks that will offer you so much. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to learn about real Louisiana cooking. Enjoy!

I received the River Road Cook Book as a wedding gift 25 years ago. I am buying one for my daughter who is getting married in July. These are recipes that I grew up with and after we moved to California could never find a recipe book with 'real' South Louisiana food. My RRCB has gotten alot of use. The Louisiana Cornbread Dressing has been a tradition in my family for more than 25 years. Enjoy!!!
