Overview

It's the penthouse or the morgue. This is the philosophy adopted by Keshawn Wilson, a.k.a. K-Dawg, self-proclaimed lord of the streets. Keshawn is the youngest of five kids, and one of only two that don't belong to his mother's husband. As a little boy, he feels the distance between him and his stepfather, and life becomes increasingly difficult for him as the years pass. His young adult years are spent in a home for boys and then in state prison, where he serves time for manslaughter. It is during his time behind bars, amongst hardened criminals, that the seeds of evil take root and mercilessly transform him from an innocent child to a heartless, conniving menace. K-Dawg decides that the world owes him something, and when he is released from prison, he intends to take it. He comes up with the ultimate power move that is sure to put him on top of the game or under the earth. He wants it all, and he is dead set on having it, no matter what the cost. He has nothing to lose . . . and everything to gain.

On the tenth anniversary of its release, K'wan's Road Dawgz has a gritty, raw realism that will remind readers how he earned a place at the top of the urban lit game.

This is the 10th Anniversary edition of Road Dawgz from #1 Essence bestselling author K'wan.

This story was great. I am truly a fan of K'wan's writing style. As usual, his style is so REAL, so VIVID, it just holds you captive. He uses phrases like, "we financing trips to hell" and "the cause of your troubles is a f@#king ghost"...It's humorous and very serious at the same time. I just love it. If you're a fan of Kwan, there is not one of his novels that you should go without reading, especially this one.

A fanatical crusade is sweeping the city up North, and itâ¿¿s not Santa Claus but the presents that are being handed out are coming down like football numbers. This new ethics code is making it impossible for all the average elves to help out and make a quick buck. But K-Dawg isnâ¿¿t any ordinary elf. Heâ¿¿s gone to ball or fall and the only present he is willing take is the fruits of having a penthouse status or ending up at the morgue. With his Road Dawgz he seeks to achieve it all and as Top Dawg heâ¿¿s dead set on getting it no matter what without looking back. Every ghetto has at least one K-Dawg or many but Road Dawgz displays how many fall victim to the streets that has no love for no one. I got past the errors but I got a bit confused when Gutter and Lou-Loc made a cameo appearance because Lou-Loc meets his maker previously in Gangsta. Through it all those who are loyal prosper, while those that go against the grain are bound to suffer. Find out will he make to the big league or will the dawg be headed to the South Pole carried by six. THEREALEASTREVEIWERS

Excellent read, a very nice change from the normal hood stories. I loved the fact that he brought characters from 'Gansta' the LA Crips Lou-loc & Gutter.

When I first started reading this book, i thought it was just another hood tale like the rest. When I got deeper into it, I really enjoyed it. The main character was a killer but he had it hard growing up. he did what he had to do.

This book was the sleeper of 2003. There was so much of a buzz about gangsta, nobody even noticed that the author put out another book. Road Dawgz is an excellent read. He came with something real different. The main character in this book is off the chain, and his man Demon, is serious. Gangsta was good, but yall better check this one out.

After reading this book, I have one question. When is the next one coming out? This book has been out for months and sadly, I'm just finding out. I read the first book from this author and I thought it was good, but after reading this I have to give it to the author. He really put together a tight story. I loved the plot and the Road Dawgz dont play. Keep up the good work.

This book was violent, offensive and vulgar. The amazing thing was that it had a very strong moral. The main character came up hard, so that's how he went out. I work with kids like that, so I understand. This book is deep.

I really enjoyed this book. The main character and his crew took it to the streets and laid it down. The way the author spun plots, within plots was crazy. I think this is a good book for anyone who's looking for an action packed story.

A very wild story. Intense and grimey!!! Action page turner!! Street smart!!

I really enjoyed this book. It was a little on the violent side but it was still a good story. I enjoyed the plot and the characters were well put together. I loved and hated K-Dawg all at the same time but I understood what made him the way he was. I can see it making the best sellers list.

This book was crazy. The dogs was biting hard. K-Dawg was off the hook. He wanted it all and wouldn't take no for an answer. The book was violent but it touched me too. That kid came into the world with nothing and and reached for the stars. K Wan first book was a good read, but this was a story.

This book was on a totally different level than his first one. K'wan stepped his game up with K-Dawgz story. Them boys had issues. This book is a must read. The Dawgz laid it down. I know it was just a story, but I felt like I lived it.

This dude came through with a real live story. K-Dawgz and his team was like that. This book was graphic, violent and offensive. But the craziest part was that it made perfect sense. If I could describe this book in one word it would be 'real.' K-Dawg and his people was foul, but they was foul for a reason. The world threw the Road Dawgz away, so they carved a piece of their own. This book is an eye opener.

I gotta admit, when I read Gangsta I thought k-wan would be a one hit wonder. I loved the book, but I didn't think his next one would live up to it. When I read Road Dawgz, I ate my words. That story was off da chain. K-Dawg was the ultimate street general. Him and his crew was bout it bout it, 4 real!!! Between K-wan and the chick that wrote B-more careful, these other authors are gonna have a hard time eating. They got it sewed.

I read Gangsta and was inpressed, but Road Dawgz was a totally different tale. I loved the characters and the sub-plots. This book is a must read.

I just got finished Road Dawgz and I'm convinced that K'wan is a true talent. I loved Gangsta, but I thouhgt the author would be a 1 hit wonder or write a book similar to the 1st. He really flipped the script in this one. I loved it almost as much as Gangsta and can't wait for a the 3rd book!!!!!!!!
