Road Trip [Original Soundtrack] [Explicit Lyrics]

Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Ganda Suthivarakom
Irreverent comedian Tom Green and a slew of slightly familiar teen and 20-something faces take a "Road Trip" in what looks like the second coming of 1999's "American Pie." Surprisingly, the ROAD TRIP soundtrack isn't as obvious as Green's scatological frat-boy humor. The album is an alt-hipster mix of indie gems and old-school flavored hip-hop, with a couple of "rawk" cuts to give the soundtrack a little mainstream aftertaste. Indie darlings Jon Spencer Blues Explosion's electronic bluesy trip "Lovin' Machine" and Ween's geek-rock masterpiece "Voodoo Lady" share time with Run D.M.C.'s rap classic "It's Tricky" and the Jungle Brothers' light-touch groove on "Early ...

Indie darlings Jon Spencer Blues Explosion's electronic bluesy trip "Lovin' Machine" and Ween's geek-rock masterpiece "Voodoo Lady" share time with Run D.M.C.'s rap classic "It's Tricky" and the Jungle Brothers' light-touch groove on "Early Morning." The album also includes some fantastic Brit-pop action with Supergrass' lip-curled, Stones-y "Pumping on Your Stereo" and Ash's lo-fi romance on "I'm Gonna Fall." Twisted Sister's foot-stomping rebellion anthem "I Wanna Rock" and Minnie Riperton's high-pitched ecstasy soul on "Inside My Love" seem to have been thrown in the mix with a dose of hipster irony that, ironically enough, may be completely lost on the movie's core audience. Although bereft of the road songs you might expect, ROAD TRIP was obviously put together by a music supervisor with a discerning musical palate. So whether you're a fan of the movie or not, the songs here are eminently embraceable.
All Music Guide - Heather Phares
Despite the gleefully immature gross-outs that make up most of the college comedy Road Trip, the movie's soundtrack is a surprisingly diverse collection of hip-hop, Brit-pop, dance, metal, and alternative rock. Though Kid Rock's "Early Morning Stone Cold Pimp," Twisted Sister's "I Wanna Rock," and Run DMC's "It's Tricky" provide plenty of machismo and aggression, the album gets downright quirky with Ween's "Voodoo Lady," the Eels' "Mr. E's Beautiful Blues," and Supergrass' "Pumping on Your Stereo." Ash's "I'm Gonna Fall," Minnie Ripperton's "Inside My Love," and Groove Armada's "I See You Baby" are some of the other highlights of Road Trip's soundtrack, which also features Tom Green's "Salmon Song." An appropriately fun and unusually eclectic album of film music.

Good CD, but track list here is wrong

Good CD, overall, and worth buying. But doesn't have 'I see you baby' like they claim here and does have 'Anything, Anything' by Buckcherry, which is not listed.
