Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
Based on the Disney/Pixar movie cars, the cars have human characteristics. New cars are on their way to Radiator Springs to see Lightning McQueen, so there is a lot of work to do to spruce up themselves and the town. Some cars want a new paint job. Luigi at Casa Della Tires is ready and McQueen tries on a new set. Flo's diner is a place to hang out and have a drink (oil of course). The cars are tuned and everyone is ready for the visitors. Now it is time to have some fun. Anthropomorphic cars are not new—more than ?? years ago movies and TV shows featured cars that talked and seemed to have minds of their own. It appears to be a topic that kids love and this Step 2 book in the "Step Into Reading" series probably has more appeal to boys than girls. Also, there is a good note on the opening page to help parents—tips for shared reading and a description of the various levels of books in the series. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
