Roberta: The Faery Tales [NOOK Book]

Overview

If you are after a sugar-coated, Disney-fied fairytale, you have found the wrong book. Seen through the eyes of the magic-wielding, sword-brandishing heroine Roberta is a tale too chilling for the faint-hearted. Meet the woman whose life spawned the fairytales "Rapunzel," "Cinderella," "Sleeping Beauty," and "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" (but with all the horrifying bits kept in!).

Editorial Reviews

Ravi Reviewer
If you’re female, you’ll love the book. Roberta is about the strongest, most empowered heroine you’ll ever read about. Despite my gender, I was riveted by the story – the magic, the witchcraft & Roberta’s prowess with the sword. Ladyclare Padua is a master-weaver of tales, interspersed with humor & a touch of gore.
Oetesh Reviewer
The author has created a modern fairytale based loosely upon common elements taken from the fairy tale Snow White. She has magically woven together elements of love, hate, jealousy, intrigue, and deception to keep the reader enticed to turn the next page

Meet the Author

Ladyclare Padua was born in the Philippines but raised in Sydney, Australia. Despite having a day job in marketing and research, she writes short stories, plays, novels, musicals and scripts on the side (to keep her sane!). Her most recent work was a musical called “A Different Corner” performed at Glen St. Theatre.

Ladyclare likes to write about anything that catches her fancy. She often writes about the complicated relationships between people and analyzes social mores.

Ladyclare currently lives with her young son, whose antics give her much inspiration and laugh lines.
