Meet the Author

Kristen Ashley grew up in Indiana, but has lived in
Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least), but loopy is good when you want to write. Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).
Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up. And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

    Highly, highly recommended

This was Ashley's first of a series, and set me up to want to read all of the rest of them right away. The Rock Chicks are the girls we all want to be. Their friends are the kind of friends we all want, and most of all, the men are the men we dream about. Besides all that, there's some great action and suspense to keep you turning pages. If this was Ashley's first published book, I want to read what's coming next. 5 stars!

This book had everything. There was mystery as to who actually has the diamonds. There was a love lost story, she had loved him for so many years, and he just pushed her away. You had drag queens and rock and roll. There was cars exploding and people getting shot, blown up and handcuffed. And finally a creepy stalker mob guy that won't catch a clue. I loved this story. There was action and adventure and a great love story all wrapped up in one little pink package.

    LOVED!

I loved this series! I read ALL 7 books in 2 weeks (yes, while working 50 hrs a week... but no kids)!! I couldn't put them down & I'm sad there are no more!
The women are funny, the guys are hot. There are a lot of similarities in the characters, but the stories are very good. They kept me wanting more!!
I laughed out loud many times!

Have you ever read a book (or a series of books) and wished the characters were your friends in real life? Or have you gotten to the last page and just started back at page one because you didn’t want the story to end? Kristen Ashley’s “Rock Chick” world is a place that I wish I could live in and be a part of as the characters and the stories are so amazing and entertaining that you want the story to go on forever. I started with Rock Chick and then went on to Rescue, Redemption, Renegade, Revenge, Reckoning, Regret, Revolution, and then finished with Redux (a FREE novella on the author’s website). The books are well written with humor, sexy guys, exciting stories, and page turning action. They range from 400 plus to well over a 1000 plus pages on my Nook and each story could be read as a stand-alone. However, each subsequent book carries the story of the previous couple even further. I am so impressed with this series that I have ordered the books in paperback so as to have them available in case my Nook has a nuclear meltdown! They will definitely have a permanent place on my bookshelf.

This and more reviews at The Book Bar.co

I feel a little torn writing this review. It may be because I had read so many raving reviews that my expectations were too high going in, but it didn't quite blow me away like I was thinking it might. Don't get me wrong, I definitely enjoyed the book. I was entertained and it held my interest till the end. It felt a little too long though and a few times I found myself thinking, here we go again. Overall, it was a fun and easy read. I'd read it all over again just for Lee... (sigh) *melting*. Liam "Lee" Nightingale is now one of my favorite book boyfriends! I want to have his babies. ;-P

"Ally and I decided when we were eight that I was going to marry Lee so I could be her "real" sister. She was going to be my maid of honor, we were going to live across the street from each other in houses with white picket fences and Lee and I were going to name our first daughter after her."
    Rock Chick. Ashley, Kristen

Indy Savage has been in love with her best friend's brother, Lee, since they were little. She has tried throwing herself at him multiple times to no avail over the years. She finally gave up when he told her that he thought of her like a little sister when she was twenty. Since then, for the past ten years, she has done her best to avoid him. That becomes impossible when her employee, Rosie, gets her tangled up in a mess involving a missing bag of diamonds. She ends up at Lee's house and he's determined to keep her safe and out of it... she is determined to solve her problems without Lee's help.
She drove me NUTS! For the love of God woman, you have an incredibly sexy and capable man who wants to help! You don't want a guy to control you? More power to you. He's not trying to control you!! He's trying to protect you and keep your stupid (donkey) from getting shot at or kidnapped again. Stop thinking you're a bad(donkey). Lee's the bad(donkey)... get it straight. Geez. She really drove me nuts! Ok, I had to get that off my chest. Lol. She did make me laugh at times, but her constant selfishness nagged at me. Now that Lee is finally showing an interest in her and wants to be together, she fights against it.

"I've been in love with him since I was five," I told Tod.
"I'm in love with him now. I want to have his children," Tod told me.
We were both still staring at the door and I was still holding the roses.
Then I shared, "He scares me now. He's an adult. He has a head on his shoulders. He's good at this relationship stuff. I think he's serious about me. And he runs in some pretty frightening circles."
"Girlie, you (have sexual relations with) this up and I'm calling the boys in the white jackets. You let something that fine slip through your fingers, you deserve a padded room. Especially if he's good at relationship stuff. Most especially if he's serious about you. No one who looks like that and fills out a pair of jeans like that is good at relationship stuff. I don't care if he runs through the seven circles of hell."
    Rock Chick. Ashley, Kristen

Liam "Lee" Nightingale was the saving grace of this book for me. I love him. LOVE him! He's smart, sexy, a total bad(donkey), and can be really sweet. He's the alpha bad boy who has a soft side. Well, soft for someone like him. He's finally letting himself act on his feelings for Indy and doesn't hold back. He wants it all and he wants it now. He showed a good balance of steamy hotness and sweet tenderness. While trying to protect Indy and help her friend, he's trying to get her to drop her guard and open up to him. Chasing bad guys, chasing Indy, managing his men, dealing with a psycho who's obsessed with his woman, dead bodies popping up, always being called away when he's so close to getting naked... There's nothing this man can't handle.

"For what it's worth, I'll share my intentions," he went on. "You and me, we aren't practice for the real thing. It isn't that too much is at stake with family and friends. It's because I love you. You're funny, beautiful and you care about people. I like the way you look at me, especially when you think I don't notice it. I like that we have history and our kids will have a big family and share that history because there was never a time when their Mom and Dad weren't together. If you were a terrible lay, I might have second thoughts but you and I are dynamite together. I intend to marry you and spend the rest of my life with you. If that freaks you out, tough, because now that we've started this, there's no goin' back."
    Rock Chick. Ashley, Kristen

I have read all of Kristen Ashley’s books out of order. I started with the Colorado Mountain series, first book of Unfinished Hero, then all of the Dream Man, finished the Unfinished Hero series, and then started on Rock Chick. All I can say is it is about time that I finally get to know about Lee, who is a character in most of the above series but I never knew him. Now I know him and now I love him even more.

Lee is extremely sexy with his alpha male mentality and such an awesome character. He runs his own PI business (that employs sexy men…bonus for us readers) and secretly harbors a crush for Indy. This to me was the cutest thing ever because based on the actions that Indy has taken in the past to seduce Lee, he has always shut her down because she was too young at the time. However, when Indy gets herself into a little danger, Lee does not mess around and goes full force with his feelings of love and protectiveness towards her.

I could see KA’s personality coming out in this book based on the absolute crazy (but funny) situations Indy put herself into. The bar scene just made me laugh because instead of staying in the care like Lee tells her to, Indy gets out and gets involved in a bar fight.

    Just okay!

I thought the author could finished the story in 400 pages not drag it to 900 pages. I was getting a little angry with Indy never listening and doing the complete opposite of what her boyfriend had asked. I did however, found myself laughing out loud on several occasions.

I waited to review the series until I had real all of the books

I waited to review the series until I had real all of the books (except for Ally's -I am on pins and needles waiting for the last story) and I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed by the series. They are fun stories that take more than one sitting to get through. The first novel about Indy and Lee I have to admit was not my favorite. I had some trouble getting past him jerking off for so long before he went after her; this didn't match up with his whole 'I am alpha male, do what I say' attitude. I would have given this one 3 stars except for one thing: this stoy is where I met the love of my life. Tex. Tex. Tex. I cannot get over how much I love this character; he is odd and crochety and sweet and tough and a cat lover. This is the man of my dreams and with each RC novel I fell in love with him even more. I wish I had my own Tex.

    Addicted

Kristen Ashley is becoming one of my favorite authors. Her books are long (900+pges) with action, love, and full of hot men! Also a major plus is that if you go to her site you can read several chapters before you purchase the book. But warning once you read those chapters there is no way you can go without buying the book. ;-)
