Olivia Cunning has done it again with her second installment of her Sinners on Tour series! Her first novel, Backstage Pass covered the story of Myrna and the lead guitarist, Brian. Steamy, hot, sex with an excellent story line. Rock Hard is the story of Jessica and the lead singer, Sed. These two will frustrate you and leave you rooting for them at the same time. Again, this is an erotic romance with an excellent story line. Jessica has a brain and knows what she wants. Sed is a protector who wants to take care of Jessica. Sed is completely swoon worthy! Who doesn't fantasize about a rock star?

We'll I kept getting interrupted so I finally stay up way to late last night o finish up the book. The beginning seemed to be so much a sex story where two people care about each other but seem to be at such cross purposes. At first it was hard to get into the story but I'm glad I stuck it out. I was unprepared for the depth of emotion the story brought out. There were so many big issues that had to be dealt with. Wow, even the minor character you wanted to hate with all your guts ended up drawing sympathy from me. The story really draws you in and you feel like you are investing in the lives of both Sed and Jess.
Originally, I figured I'd just read the two freebies in the series I had received. This book as convinced me but the rest of the series on my wish list.

A fictional character that I have enjoyed getting to know. He and Jessica - his love interest - struggle through relationship obstacles to reach their happy ending.
I appreciated the character development. Sedric and Jessica progressed from one point to another; not unlike real life.
Rock Hard was an emotional roller coaster with plenty of ups and downs that will keep readers glued to the pages and giving you one hell of a ride. Jessica and Sed have major history and it has affected each of their lives drastically, turning them into the people they are today. Misunderstandings, assumptions, lack of trust; you name it and this couple goes through it. Both are very strong characters and as such tend to clash, a lot. But one thing they've never had a problem with.smoking hot sex. Sed and Jessica's passion is palpable in each scene together and Olivia Cunning delivers up an absolute feast in this area!
However, I just could not like Jessica, no matter how hard I tried! Loved Sed, even though he is domineering, he has a good heart behind it. Jessica just seemed cold and it took her a long time to even thaw out in the slightest. By the end I just accepted that she wasn't going to be a favorite character but I still enjoyed Rock Hard immensely despite that. Several twists and subplots add to the swift moving story line that is both gritty and realistic. Some heart breaking (Trey!) and others humorous rounding it out well.
What truly grabs you in this series though is the group dynamic, the five guys in this band and their interactions and growth together. Each one of these guys, whether you're a Brian groupie *me, me*, a Sed fan, Jace lover, or Eric and Trey follower, will capture your heart and never let go!
I am simply dying for the next novel in this series and Trey's book cannot come fast enough. I'm a Brian groupie all the way but Trey just tugs on my heart strings! If you haven't read this amazing rock star series yet then I recommend you start at the begging with Backstage Pass and do it soon, because these are keepers that you'll want to read again and again!
I ? Sinners!
From the night life of Vegas to the quiet beach condo of one Sedric Lionheart (lead singer of the Sinners), this book is a sexy, steamy, voyeuristic, panty dropping romp of a book.
It was a fun and easy read. Can't wait for the next book.

IT REALLY PISSES ME OFF WHEN I READ A HALFWAY DECENT BOOK, AND THEN FIND OUT THAT THERE WAS ONE BEFORE THAT. IT JUST THROWS EVERYTHING OFF. WELL, I WAS SURPRISE BY ALL OF THE STEAMY LOVE SCENES. AND WHEN I SAY ALL I DO MEAN ALOT. WHICH IS GREAT. (LOL) BUT THE STORY LINE NEEDED SOME HELP. BUT EVEN WITH THAT SAID I STILL WANTED TO FINISH THE STORY. JESSICA, VERY HEAD STRONG, AND SED, VERY CONTROLING, IS TRYING TO FIND SOME SORT OF MIDDLE GROUND IN THEIR RELATIONSHIP WHICH SUFFERS A BREAK-UP, AND THEN IS SLOWLY REBUILT OVER A PERIOD OF TIME. AFTER READING THIS STORY, IT HAS ME WONDERING IF THIS IS IN FACT HOW OUR POP, ROCK AND R&B STARS GET DOWN TODAY??? IT LEAVES YOU GUESSING. ENJOY........

I bought this book in papper back. It looks like a big book but once you start it you can't put it down! I loved it! And am so happy to know that their is more. The characters are great, and the book is well written. Lots of sex sences; though not as good as some books I've read. All in all a good book!

In Backstage Pass Sed came off as egotistical, manipulative & even a bit sinister in his need to sabotage every relationship that the hero in Backstage Pass had by seducing each of his love interests. He was so bad that you couldn't help but be intrigued by his story, especially when you learned that he was the way he was because of a woman that broke his heart. That woman is, Jessica, the heroine in Rock Hard. One of the major issues that I had with Rock Hard is that so much of Sed's detached, reprehensible behavior, came as a result of Jessica leaving him and appeared in the book Backstage Pass, but not really in Rock Hard. In this book the reader is told over and over again in vague terms of the impact that the end of their love affair had on him, but his behavior in Rock Hard lacked the intensity and impact that was in Backstage Pass. So while it is said that the book can be read as a stand alone, I don't think you get a clear picture of Sed and how he uses sex as a character without having read Backstage Pass. Two other major issues that I had with Rock Hard had to do with Sed's role as the lead singer in the Sinners. At the beginning of the book Sed's throat is injured which became life and career threatening, much like one of the other band members in this story. But Sed's injury and the impact to his singing, which is how he defines himself as a person, is kind of glossed over as less important than his fellow bandmate's career threatening injury. Quite a bit of the story that wasn't sexin' focused on the other bandmate, Trey's, injury and his resulting drug dependency. And while it brought Sed and Jessica together I can't help but wish that those pages would have been devoted instead to Sed and how he would cope with having to change his singing style when he is THE "voice" of the band. It's what made him famous, but he can't really be that "voice" anymore. I was baffled that in Sed's story that this wasn't a bigger issue. Sed's other role in the band is writing the lyrics for their songs. Towards the beginning of the book the reader is given a glimpse into his notebook of ideas, yet not once is the reader gifted with one of his songs. I was very disappointed in that. Especially in the one scene that I felt it was critical to the story.when Sed proposes to Jessica for the second time. He wrote a song for & It is supposed to be the epitome of what he feels for her, or how he felt when he lost her, yet the reader is left out. For me, this was an absolute necessity and I can't understand why the reader couldn't "hear" the song as it was played for Jessica at such a pivotal moment in their romance. His songs could have shown the devastating loss he felt when she left (and it is hinted at that the songs were written), as well as his undying and enduring love. They could have made the story work for me. Overall, if you are looking for a sexy, steamin' hot read with lots of sex, then I think you will enjoy Rock Hard, but if you like a bit more character growth and plot substance with your erotic romance, then you might find the story lacking. I think Rock Hard is a slight misstep in the Sinners on Tour series, which is very sad for me because I was most intrigued with Sed in Backstage Pass. However, it doesn't diminish my love for the band. Overall: 3.00 Sensuality level: 4.25

This was such a great follow-up to Backstage Pass and it left me completely wanting more and depressed because I'll probably have to wait awhile to get it :/ Damn this reading addiction of mine! I'll definitely be pre-ordering the next one, that way it will deliver to my Kindle with a quickness!
Sed - He was written so perfectly! Ladies, how often do we come across a male who, more often than not, says the wrong things at the wrong time and ultimately sticks his foot so hard in his mouth it tickles his ass. That was Sed. Only in romance novels have I ever found a man who always knows just what to say & how to say it. Sed always meant well but the words got screwed up going from his brain to his mouth. I loved that though he was not always perfect, his actions showed that he honestly loved Jessica with all his heart. He had to learn how to interact & communicate with her so that he didn't always come off as too over-bearing. He has a very strong & protective personality and even though he was just trying to take care of Jessica, he realized that she was strong enough to handle herself and she didn't always need him to do that for her. I think it takes a stronger man to accept his girlfriend/mate/wife's strength and step back even though he feels strongly about protecting her. This absolutely endeared him to me. So much growth occured within him from the first time we met him to the end of this book.
Jessica - I really liked Jessica and the fact that she stood her ground when faced with ultimatums that were unacceptable to her. By doing that, she really brought home to Sed that if he didn't change his tactics and ways, he was going to lose her. Which he did for 2 years. She was such an independent woman and so focused on making it on her own, without any help, that I think it sometimes it hurt her more than helped her. She was so convinced that Sed was only being possesive & controlling of her, she couldn't actually see the love he had & the true meaning behind what he was trying to do. I think as women, we sometimes feel this over-powering need to handle everything on our own because we think that shows our true strength - I for one am guilty of that. Just like with Sed, sometimes it takes more strength & courage to know when you need help & then ask for it. Finding that balance is the key and Jessica eventually was able to do that. I find it SO refreshing to read about a heroine in a story that is not perfect. So often we are given these perfect examples of females in novels and it's nice to see this completely real woman, with issues no less, work through and attain a wonderful relationship with the man she loves!
The sub-plots within this book involving Trey, Jace & Eric just made it all the more necessary to have their books NOW! I love The Sinners and can't wait to read everyone of their books. Hopefully we'll also get a taste of Exodus End as well. I for one would love to read about Dare & Max!

Wow this book was chock full of steamy scenes - I mean I'm really surprised that Jessicas birth control held up with all this extra cirricular activity thats in the book. I just wish the writing was was less corny, who says "fill me up buttercup" while knocking boots? Not to take away from the author - I am going to give her props for a few things 1. Sed and Jess got it on a lot which is why you read a romance novel right? Plus I got some great new ideas haha 2. Sed and Jess were not cornballs like half of the other romance characters out there and the way their clothes and hair and such were described made them seem normal, like 2010 normal. People in the modern word don't wear "apricot colored silk t-shirts" anymore - HELLO! 3. Would I BUY Backstage Pass NO! would I read it if it was given to me for free YES! I would love it if this offer could really hone in on what shes doing here and create great romance scenes within a great story maybe she should collab with like Richelle Mead!
