They say rolling stones gather no moss, and that goes for Kid Rock, too. The rapper-cum-rocker delivers his most ambitious effort yet with Rock N Roll Jesus. Backed by his Twisted Brown Trucker band and the Fisk Jubilee Singers, the Kid offers his two cents on topics ranging from race relations to religion to...sex, sex, and sex. (You were expecting an economics treatise?) The single "So Hott" is already climbing the charts in advance of this Southern rock /honky-tonk / hip-hop magnum opus.

On Rock N Roll Jesus, Kid Rock's his music is so cluttered with comforting clichés, it plays like music for a theme restaurant, and his words fall flat. Splashy and silly though it may be, the music gets the basic sound right, even if it's way too polished and precise. The most shocking and notable thing about Rock N Roll Jesus: he's lost all of his verbal facility, to the point where he can no longer tell a dirty joke. It's as if by leaving rap behind, he's also discarded any claims at being clever.

    A reviewer

To be honest: I have not been a Kid Rock fan. I have never liked any of his songs, or thought that he was really special. However, a friend of mine bought me this CD, and I have gladly changed my mind. This CD is amazing, Rock is extremely talented. The lyrics are great, the beat is hypnotic, and his voice seals the deal. For anyone who feels any reluctance in buying this CD rest assured it is worth your money and your time. I always thought of him as a one show pony with no real depth but I was wrong. Rock is proving himself to be an apt musician. To the point: this is a great CD and rock is a talented artist.

    YES!!!!!

It's been a while, but so worth the wait! This album has everything you could possibly want from Kid Rock. I love him!!! He is soft, hard, naughty, nasty, and totally eatable. I hope that one of his songs is about P.A. which would be a real sly smackdown. I have seen him in concert, and this album reminded me again of just how much talent this man really has. His backup is tight, and he is HOT!!!

    THIS IS IT!!!!!!!

First things first I wasn't really a Kid Rock fan until I saw a live show and from then on I had nothing but respect. This album is the best thing that has happend to Rock and Roll in many years. Heart felt and true. I must admit I was a bit worried about the title but after listening to it all the was through I love it. True Rock, Blues, Southern Gospal and even a bit of the old KID, it will be a crime if this is thing is not at #1 this month. Never the less it WILL be an instant CLASSIC. Go get it!!!
