Rock & Roll Christmas Show

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Cub Koda

All the usual seasonal suspects are aboard "Jingle Bell Rock," "Blue Christmas," "White Christmas," "Santa Bring My Baby Back to Me," "Here Comes Santa Claus," "Run Rudolph Run," "Let It Snow," "O Little Town of Bethlehem," "Silent Night", all pretty much duded up in their best retro rockabilly clothes. Guitarist Kenny Taylor's sense of chord ...

Guitarist Kenny Taylor's sense of chord theory really gets a workout on these numbers, applying jazz technique to a pure rockabilly sound. There's more than a large dollop of humor on this disc every note of the way, and on original material like "God Rest Ye Merry Surf Punks" and "Santabilly Boogie," the group's combination of solid musicianship and sense of fun is what elevates this homegrown project several notches above standard holiday fare.
