Overview

A simple, inventive format that teaches shapes with holographic-foiled, movable disks in every spread!

With inventive die-cuts and movable pieces, the ROCK & ROLL format is a book that borders on toy design. Using die-cut handles at the end of each page, the ROCK & ROLL format allows readers to twist and tilt the book, moving embedded disks on every spread back and forth between two images, highlighting one color or shape on each spread.

Children will love the hypnotic "slide" and "click" as they move the holographic colors back and forth.

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
The size, noise, sparkles and handle on this book certainly make this book about shapes a bit different than others on the topic. It still introduces only five common shapes—square, circle, star, triangle and diamond. For the square, the heavy stock pages have various size squares cut out and a shiny piece of material slides from the top to the bottom of the page and vice versa. As the panel slides it makes a noise. The left hand page identifies the shape in a very large font. The background is also filled with the shape represented. The same format is followed for all five of the previously noted shapes. The back cover states "Shake, Rattle, Roll & Learn shapes like never before." Perhaps, but it is pretty basic information. There is a companion book entitled Colors. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
