I picked this up on a whim while fixing the romance section in Barnes and Noble, because the cover grabbed my attention. I admit...I was not expecting a whole lot, just a nice read to pass the time. But it is always nice when you get more than you expect...in a good way. I loved the main character, she was serious and focused and everything a person like her should be. Sometimes you read the character description and how the character is written does not fit who you think they should be. She fit. And despite that fact that her indecisiveness annoyed at times...I understood it and liked her still. Bryan is great. Everything you hope he would be based on the kind of relationship he is perusing. Brave, handsome, hot, and brooding. What's not to like. All in all...this story had more depth than I expected and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Always a nice surprise. I tend to read more fantasy, and if I read romance it is historical in nature...so this was a change and a good one.

I am a sucker for romance novels of ALL types. This was no exception. Read the book while I was at work. I loved it! Did not put it down, until I actually had to do work. Read the book in about 3 hours.

I loved this book! Was surprised at how good it was. I loved Bryan, made me want to go out and find me a rocker lol. The only thing I didn't like ( and apparently a lot of other people didn't like it) was Callie's indecisiveness. It was so tiring reading that. But other than that it was wonderful.

when i started to read this book i thought i would never read it again but i kept on reading and i was on the edge of my seat. This author is an inspirational writer talking about interracial relationship.

I purchased the book strictly because of IR content. However, in reading, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters made me laugh at times and sad at others. Ms. Holcomb made me want to hate BT with his conniving plans and then laugh because of the same traits. However, I felt Callie should have come to decision sooner than she did about their future. It is a book I will read again.

This books was better than I expected in more ways than one. This book was the first one by Rosyln Hardy Holcomb that I have read, I could not put it down. This is one of the few books that I love to reread. The characters are down to earth and well thought out. If you are one the face about this book, GET IT. It is well worth it.

This book was bood, but I am going to lay off the interracial novels. They really don't do anything for me. I hate all the racial stuff in the stories.

Lost In the Stars Imagine giving yourself fully to someone only to learn that they have disappeared without a trace; without as much as a goodbye. This is what Nate does to Tonya only to show up again ten years later with danger chasing at his heels. I thought “Dark Star” was a fast paced book with plenty of things going on. One minute you were reading about an author (Tonya) celebrating the release of her novel and the next minute you’re reading about love and murder. Roslyn Hardy Holcomb did a good job holding her readers’ attention. I wanted to keep reading more to find out how the book would end. Unfortunately, I did find errors throughout the book. It was not enough to take away from the story, but it was enough to be noticed. I would recommend this book. With this said, I definitely will be looking for another read by Roslyn Hardy Holcomb. This is a great book. The writing is lovely and I loved much of the story. Toward the end, I would've liked Callie to have decided a bit sooner. I understand her trepidation: paperazzi, a parent's dislike of IR, and pursuing a dream. Some reviews I've read critisized her, but they have to understand that you have to be in the situation to understand and I can relate to her, being an African American with a father who is a bit iffy IR (my mom is more like, 'I don't care about what race he is, just at least he treats you right'). I still believe she's a stong woman... you can't truly judge her for her actions *shrug*. Plus, who doesn't like a little frustration, eh? :)

So i liked it. It took me acouple trys to get into it at first. I never really got a feel for the chacters so i didnt really connect with anyone. Its a short story ummm its the second least entertaining book ive read in this genre. So at least ive read worst.

Callie has worked fervently on her five year plan and it is now time to start a new five year plan. Owning her own bookstore with her best friend in her small town home of Mapel Fork, Alabama has been her biggest challenge, but a rewarding one nonetheless. However, when Bryan Spencer, a rock star, comes into her book store, Callie will find a new focus to dwell on finding unconventional love. Thus ROCK STAR is the story of two people from different backgrounds who find the mind cannot stop what the heart feels. Initially Callie kept her friendship with Bryan platonic, but as they began to spend more time together and Bryan opened up emotionally, feelings could not be denied. As Callie became more comfortable with their relationship, she also got to experience the celebrity lifestyle. When Bryan went back on tour, Callie was able to join him and keep their budding romance alive. However, when the tabloids write an unflattering story about her relationship with Bryan things for the couple take a turn for the worse. Now the couple must decide if their relationship is worth saving it when the people they most care about seem to be against them and whether Callie can weather the tabloid storm. It was an okay debut from Rosylyn Hardy Holcomb, but it just didn't thrill me like some of the other IR novels I've read. Based upon the reviews, I bought Rock Star and I had high hopes for it but, the story just didn't hold my attention. I found myself skipping over paragraphs and peeking ahead to see if it would get better. When I finally finished I was relieved it was over. Strange, because I did enjoy Bryan's character and the depth of his feelings for Callie but, I just did not enjoy the entire ride. I couldn't even bring myself to care about the so called romance that was supposed to be blossoming between him and Callie. It's definitely not the worst romance I've ever read, but, in good consciousness couldn't give it a higher rating than 3 stars.

I thought that the story had a good concept and a good beginning. In the middle it started getting flaky and some of the conversations that were had could have been edited better or deleted all together because it didn't enhance the story (i.e.-the sherriff). The indecision was overly drawn out to the point that I started to believe that he should have told Callie that they were through. The book could have been about 20 pages shorter and it would have made it better.
