This book is so good. It's romantic, funny, hot, drama everything I like in a story but wow what an ending. How can u just end the story like that if u can read it as a stand alone. It should have a better ending that's wat completes a book.

I really didn't want to like Trip (though, he was helpful with Noel and Lanie at one point in their story), he really nailed the man-whore attitude in all the other books for the Black Falcons stories of course, as with all things, I found out Trip is a pretty amazing guy. Trip decides to venture into the world of motor cross by becoming a partner at a track that is about to be foreclosed on and in doing so, bumps into the one woman that seems to hold all the cards to wake up his frozen heart. I had no idea the damage that had been done to Trip which pushed him into his "man-whore" ways but watching him open up with Holly showed he is a completely different guy when he's not guarding his heart now can he convince the girl he's worth the risk? Holly has given up college to help her Dad with the motor cross track she loves, little does she know that the new investor is going to shake up more than the business. Holly will have to face more than the business falling apart and then there is the jerk of an ex Jackson. Oh, I have to mention Mitchell, Holly's gay best friend and all around amazing human being. This was a fun, exciting, romantic and sexy story that kept me guessing and just made me smile. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Let me start by saying I love Black Falcon. One of my favorite things about the band is the banter between the boys and this book did not have it, so that did bum me out. I did appreciate where the author was going in giving us the story of Trip and Holly while the band was on a break with Noel and Riff becoming family men. I am dying to read Rock My Body and see what is going to go on with Tyke not being happy with the current "break" the band is on and his future. It will be good to see how Trip and Holly have fit in with the band/family and see if Tyke and Black Falcon can find their Happily Ever After. Was this review helpful? I love drummers, but I was so disappointed in this story. I expected something more on the music level other than a couple of songs outside of an arena. There really wans't the traditional angst, no real groupies to contend with, no band drama...a little brother drama, but not enough to get in to. I totally get how the band's on a break and Trip's looking to secure an investment. I even understand the way the story played out and we got to see the man behind the drum kit. I admire the secondary story line and the courage it takes for anyone to stand up and against violence, but I was left wanting more. The story just fell flat for me and there has been no improvement in the editing with each book of this series. I'm pretty sure I just called it a day on Black Falcon. Was this review helpful? Holly Pearson never thought she'd be working at her fathers Motocross track and run into a walking-talking billboard for trouble. Trip Douglas has been sent to evaluate the track for an investor and Holly makes no bones about her dislike and disgust in this fact. Trip needs a break from all the crazy drama currently going on with his bandmates. He decides that what he needs is something to invest in. He decides on a little ruse in order to hide his true identity of the actual investor. The only problem is Holly the owner's daughter is a real Ice Queen and doesn't want Trip's help. Until he offers to help her make her ex jealous. With Trip and Holly spending so much time together Holly's feelings get confused and she doesn't know who she wants.
I love this series and I cannot wait for Tyke's story! Trip and Holly have many ups and downs and secrets to get through that provides just the right amount of drama. It's funny, sad, and romantic. Max! How can one not fall in love with him! I wish there was a novella for Max I couldn't get enough of him...hilariously sweet! I adore Holly's character and how strong she really is especially with all the drama she has to face. I don't know what to say about Tyke's news but lets hope it doesn't come to that.

5 Tripping Stars
Michelle Valentine does it again with Rock the Beat. This time around we get Trip's story. Now of all the Black Falcon members I was not sure how much I would like Trip, but let me just say...I love him. He definitely is the bad boy, tatted up alpha male rocker. Enough descriptives for you?? Well it fits him. What I didn't expect to encounter was the sweet loving side of Trip. I also couldn't picture, or maybe I don't remember Trip being hurt in the past. Oh yeah..I am a huge Trip fan now.
Making the book great was the balance that Holly provides. It is great because she is a solid heroine with some of her own past issues. I love that Trip wasn't something entirely new to her, she already loves tattoed bad boys. Finding one to love her though...that was what she needed.
Other things I love about this story...
1. How do you not love Max as a bestfriend
2. The side story of her dad and how Trip is so helpful with that
3. I love when the drama hits in the story, you know, the turning point where you wonder if the couple will make it through..well I love that Valentine never draws that out. It gets addressed and we move o from there.
4. The sexy moments in this story..yeah, they are just HOT. Love the bathroom scene and Trips cockiness.
So as I am sure you can tell I love Valentine's writing and I love this series. Some may critique that there are some grammatical errors but literally, I could care less because the story is just that good.
Oh and what has me even more excited---first 3 Chapters of the next book are included and let me just say...I need that book now. Can't wait to get some more Lane and Noel!!!

Love love loved it!!!!! Like always never disappointed!! This book was freaking awesome...Trip is a whole other level. These Falcon boys are the best and need to find me one...ASAP!! Got to meet Michelle and she is a down to earth chick...my favorite author at this point.
Loved how sincere Trip really was and when he finally met Holly I loved how was able to find love again. I'm a little taken back from the news he got from his brother but I guess we just have to wait and see what that's all about. I really like how the book ended, would really love it that their story is more of finding who they are together and not marry them off. Overall I loved it and continue to be a hardcore fan.

This author is amazing and while this story was shorter than I expected, she packed a tremendous punch in the pages. Trip’s story was as hot as you’d expect it to be and now I can’t wait to see what her brother will be up now that he is thinking of leaving Black Falcon. Incredible writing and I look forward to her next work like I do all the others. Love this series!

I felt for Holly..her story was so sad and the things she gave up to be with her dad just killed me. Trip coming into the picture helped in so many ways. He came in to help with no gain in mind. He just wanted to save something. I hope we get finish to their story. I have to know!!!! Please dont make us wait too long! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Trip's Story: ROCK THE BEAT is the October 2013 instalment in Michelle A Valentine’s contemporary rock genre romance series-Black Falcon. Although this is the third full-length storyline, Rock The Beat can be read as a stand alone but I would recommend reading in order to understand the references and previous storyline characters.
Rock The Beat finds Black Falcon drummer Trip Douglas looking to invest in a moto-cross business during his down time from the band. While Noah and Riff are spending time with their young families, Trip discovers a little gem of a sports venue needing a quick influx of cash and Trip is ready, willing and able. But first, Trip goes in under cover as a representative for the investor hoping to learn the truth behind the business’s current drop in productivity and cash flow. Enter Holly Pearson, the owner’s daughter, and the young woman with whom Trip will fall in love.
The relationship is slow to build as Trip and Holly meet under drunken circumstances and the ensuing days to weeks will find Trip trying to make amends for his initial behavior. But Holly’s heart has been broken by a former love and Trip represents everything that Holly does not want-especially when he has lied about his identity and about whom he actually represents.
The secondary characters are colorful including Holly’s best friend Max; her ex boyfriend and her ailing parents. There is definitely a need for a story or novella revolving around Max and one that Michelle has quietly introduced through a letter in the storyline.
There is limited interaction with the former storyline characters and Black Falcon members until the final few pages of the novel. But saying that, there is also a building story for Trip’s twin Tyke who has been growing restless while the rest of the band members fall in love and take time to smell the roses. If you were looking for a storyline involving music and tours, Rock the Beat takes a different path.
Michelle A Valentine has written a story for Trip that will find the bad boy drummer tamed by a twenty year old woman who has had her fair share of hard times and broken promises. Rock The Beat is a storyline of heartbreak and sorrow; betrayal and redemption; love and letting go. It is also a story with a happily ever after for now and one that I hope will continue into the next instalment.

Oh, Trip...I've been waiting for you!! And it is official. I'm in love with another Black Falcon hottie! It started with Noel, then Riff, and now Trip...I've loved them all (Tyke, you're up next!). In Rock the Beat, Michelle Valentine brings us Trip's and Holly's story and what a fun, sexy read it is! This was unique from the others in that it took place entirely at a motocross track instead of on the road with the band. I missed some of the interactions with the others but I also loved the focus primarily on Trip and Holly.
Holly is taking a break from college to help her dad with the track and also to stay close to her boyfriend. She's a tough, strong, hold-nothing-back kind of girl! I loved her sass! Trip shows up with the possibility of investing in the track but is doing so without letting on who he really is. It was fun getting into Trip's naughty head through the use of the dual POVs. Both POVs were distinct and the transitions smooth with switching back and forth. The chemistry between these two is definitely hot and there is a sweet, almost down-to-earth quality to this story that I adored.
Along with the main story of Holly and Trip, there were some very tender moments between Holly and her Dad and Holly and her best friend, Max. I also loved the way the connection was handled with Trip and the band through Tyke.
Overall, I continue to be a groupie for the Black Falcon band! You can find me in the front row waiting for a drum stick to be thrown my way by the sexy Trip!
