When Lane's company flies her to a Black Falcon concert to gain Noel's attention, emotions run high the moment she sees him and realizes she's far from over him. But Noel's countless trysts with groupies and his cocky attitude make Lane believe he isn't the same guy she once loved-now he seems to only want her body. Then after Lane discloses she needs him to procure a job, Noel proves he's a changed man by forcing her to go on the road with him in order to get it.
After Lane reluctantly takes Noel up on his offer, she becomes willing to do whatever it takes to keep him satisfied, even if it means succumbing to his seductive ways. Lane soon finds deception is a dangerous game and she's not the only one playing.

(I was blessed with an ARC from Michelle to read and review)
I really don't even know how to begin how to describe just how much I LOVED this book. I do love a good book with sexy rock stars to begin with BUT I mean I reallllyy reallyyy loved Rock The Heart!!!
First and foremost the members of Black Falcon are just flat out sexy! Adam Levine was the inspiration behind Noel and can we say yum? (Go ahead and say it, I'll wait) Noel is your typical cocky, swaggeriffic musician who is also happens to be insanely sincere especially where Lanie is concerned...now Lanie, Lanie happens to be Noel's High School girlfriend who ripped out his heart the day she dumped him 4 years earlier which he's never quite gotten over. Now fast forward 4 years Noel's the front man of the chart topping hugely successful band Black Falcon while Lanie's interning hoping to make it in the marketing business...the two of them haven't seen or spoken to each other since that day four years ago and as luck would have it's the company Lanie interns for that wants to do the marketing for Noel's charity and of course who do they send to meet him but Lanie...now this is where the story goes from good to great as we see these two people navigate the broken road that leads them back to each other.
The writing is phenomenal, from the first time Lanie & Noel see each other again I could feel all of their emotions; all the hurt, disgust, fear, anger, frustration, chemistry, "tension" as well as the incredible love these two still have for each other, it's obvious they never got over the other.
Michelle really did an excellent job of making me feel such an emotional connection to Noel & Lane, I felt it most during their struggles and heartbreaks because we all know the road to true love is NEVER smooth and believe me Noel and Lanie had some giant pot holes along the way (I was in tears during those parts) and the end had me completely ugly crying as the lyrics of the song Noel was singing to Lanie played in my head but yet I let out a happy sigh of contentment when I was done reading...it's been 5 days since I first read it (notice I said first because I've read it again) and I still have that happy contentment when I think of this book and I still have tears when I play "that" song because I had to go buy it...I can't wait for book two, Rock My Bed to be release I'm hoping in that one we get to learn a little more about the other members of Black Falcon and of course I NEED and WANT more Noel...and Lanie

I felt such a range of emotions with this book. My heart broke for Noel. He is one conflicted soul in need of healing. Healing from a family relation gone bad. Healing from his breakup with Lane four years prior. I just wanted to be a band-aid and wrap myself around his wounded heart to protect him and help him heal. I cried, I screamed, I laughed and giggled, and then there was the moment when I felt a heart pounding fear. At 72%, my heart fell through the floor. I swear it left my body. I know this because I was cold and numb; my blood couldn't have been flowing. The secret was out, and what a shock it was! I was shocked beyond belief! It was one of those moments when my guess was proven right, but I went into denial and thought, No, the author won't do this. She can't do this! No, don't do this! *sigh* She did this, and it was so much worse than I thought it would be. At 75%, it was time to throw the iPad. Note to self: Invest in an Otterbox for iPad. I was a train wreck! To make matters worse, around 95% I thought my heart was going to explode or I was going to go into an asthma attack! I couldn't believe that I was almost to the end, and I was going to finish this book in such angst and not get my happy ever after! I was ready to send Michelle Valentine an email telling her she had to have made some mistake! This couldn't be! Well, Michelle Valentine, you got me. I was in angst all the way until 99%, when I finally did my happy happy joy joy dance...with tears in my eyes. To say I loved this book is an understatement. Michelle Valentine has given birth to a stellar cast of characters in an exceptional book that will remain on my all time favorite list of rock star books. I can only hope the second installment in the series comes soon....I need more of the Black Falcon Band like I need air to breathe! (Full review can be found on my blog)

The thing that would have made this book better is if the book would have had Noel's pov. Lane and Noel reconnect fours years after Lanier walks away from Noel. The love they have for each other is still just as strong but there are unseen obstacles for Lanie. The ending is kind of sweet but just ends. I'm glad that they have another book coming out because I feel like there is more to their storyWas this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. So I finally read this book several months ago based on a recommendation from my aunt, she had been telling me about the series for several months before that. I actually stumbled upon this series after reading Phenomenal X another series from Michelle, and Thankfully she put the excerpt at the end, or I probably would have missed this whole series.
I bought this book immediately after reading the excerpt because I seriously had to see how things turned out with Lane and Noel. Seriously glad I did, because it also introduced me to the other guys of Black Falcon and their stories as well.
This is the 1st book in the Series, and let me tell you...It is a great start! This book starts off with Lane being an intern trying to seal the deal with Noel Falcon, The lead singer of Black Falcon...and her ex-High School Sweetheart, for the major marketing firm she is trying to land a permanent position with.
She ends up being sent to their concert in Texas, in order to convince him that the marketing firm she works for is the best choice to promote his charitable foundation...this is where it all takes a turn for the unexpected...Old emotions come back to the surface, blackmail comes into play, and Boys will be boys...as the rest of the band come into play.
I Loved the story that took place between Lane and Noel, but then again I am a bit of a hopeless romantic. There are a few unexpected twists and turns along the way, but as with every relationship...sometimes you have to fight for what you really want. I think I read the entire series within a week of starting the first, so trust me when I say...you will Love these books, and the Series!!! <3

Lanie is shocked when she is assigned the Black Falcon for her new marketing campaign. Brand new at her company, she is surprised to be assigned to such a huge client as a relatively new employee. It isn’t until she realizes that she will be working closely with her ex-boyfriend, Noel, that she understands that her new client may have been assigned, not for her brain but for her past with the lead singer.
Noel has secrets he goes to great lengths to hide from Lanie. Serious about finding his way back to her, Noel wants to guard his heart and keep things hidden while drawing Lanie closer and closer. Filled with fantastic secondary characters and a fiery main romance, the question becomes, what secrets does Noel really have and can Lanie live with the consequences.
I really enjoyed Noel and Lanie’s adventure through Rock the Heart. Their shared pasts created a fantastic backdrop and it made an intregal part of the story blossom. Plus their scenes seemed to just burn off the pages.
My favorite parts though included Noel’s bandmates. I enjoyed Lanie don’t get me wrong, but the scenes with his bandmates were funny, lighthearted, and realistic. You could easily see why Noel considered them family and steered clear of his own.
All in all a really cute, creative romance with a little drama towards the end. Sweet and fun with the right amount of naughty mixed in, Rock the Heart is the first in what I can only hope is a long series featuring the Black Falcon band. Next up is Rock My Bed, featuring Aubrey and Riff.

There’s nothing I enjoy more that a second chance romance story! I became interested in this couple when I read a “prequel” to this book in an anthology the author was part of to support an anti-bullying campaign, Stories for Amanda. Ms. Valentine’s story stood out then and was one of my favorites and definitely left my curiosity peaked about this couple. High school sweethearts who want to follow two different career paths and are forced to make the decision to go their own ways.
So Noel Falcon has now become a rock God! Lane might be regretting the fact that she decided to dump him to go to college instead of following him in his path to stardom. Now, working at an advertising firm, she gets her first career break…and it’s in the form of working on a campaign for Noel himself and a charity that means a lot to him.
Neither one of them really ever got over the other. The love and chemistry is still there when they come back together, and that’s always so sweet to see. Even if things were done and said that have to be overcome.
If you love your rockstars hot but with a heart of gold, then you will love Noel Falcon. With a chemistry that sizzles off the pages and a great story around them, then I think you will love this series. It’s not too dark or too angsty, just a great story that doesn’t need to pull all those punches to let you enjoy it. Looking forward to the next in the band!

A complete waste of my time. Lanie is just out of college working as an intern at a marketing firm. She lands the job of a lifetime working on the marketing for the lead singer of a rock bands kid charity. It just so happens to be her high school x-love whom she dumped because she didn't think he would make it with his music and she wanted him to get a real career. Well, now Noel is the sexy front man to his very famous rock band. Noel demands that Lanie come on tour with him for 2 weeks which is completely unrealistic. Once on the tour Lanie eventually gives in to her desires but there is always something in the way, shocker...either it is her obsession to keep business and pleasure separate or that her job is in jeopardy. Noel becomes this super obsessed dude who only wants her but then Lanie finds out Noels secret, an it tears them apart blah blah blah. I would have overlooked the horrible writing if there were sexier scenes but they were just mediocre. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. I fell in love with Noel and Lanie. This is my first Michelle Valentine book and she didn't disappoint. I had read many great reviews for her work and finally had a chance to enjoy it myself. Noel and Lanie had been high school sweethearts and shared a great love and friendship. Lanie pushed Noel away when they graduated, his dreams of a becoming a rock star scared her along with the fear of going off to college without him. Four years later, Lanie's job throws her back into Noel's path. Noel makes the decision that now that he's seen Lanie again, he doesn't want to let her go and will do anything to get her back in his life. There are a lot of bumps along the way, a few surprises that even shocked me, can they forgive the past? Can they deal with issues in the present? Was this review helpful? Perhaps it's old fashioned of me, but when I buy a novel I fully expect the author to have a working knowledge of the English language. This was not the case in Rock The Heart. The sheer volume of grammatical mistakes is shocking. Clearly this book was not edited or it was edited by someone just as uneducated as the author. I bought this book based on the number of good reviews it received. I should have listened to the reviewers who gave this book a low rating. What a disappointment. Was this review helpful?
