When Lane's company flies her to a Black Falcon concert to gain Noel's attention, emotions run high the moment she sees him and realizes she's far from over him. But Noel's countless trysts with groupies and his cocky attitude make Lane believe he isn't the same guy she once loved-now he seems to only want her body. Then after Lane discloses she needs him to procure a job, Noel proves he's a changed man by forcing her to go on the road with him in order to get it.
After Lane reluctantly takes Noel up on his offer, she becomes willing to do whatever it takes to keep him satisfied, even if it means succumbing to his seductive ways. Lane soon finds deception is a dangerous game and she's not the only one playing.

(I was blessed with an ARC from Michelle to read and review)
I really don't even know how to begin how to describe just how much I LOVED this book. I do love a good book with sexy rock stars to begin with BUT I mean I reallllyy reallyyy loved Rock The Heart!!!
First and foremost the members of Black Falcon are just flat out sexy! Adam Levine was the inspiration behind Noel and can we say yum? (Go ahead and say it, I'll wait) Noel is your typical cocky, swaggeriffic musician who is also happens to be insanely sincere especially where Lanie is concerned...now Lanie, Lanie happens to be Noel's High School girlfriend who ripped out his heart the day she dumped him 4 years earlier which he's never quite gotten over. Now fast forward 4 years Noel's the front man of the chart topping hugely successful band Black Falcon while Lanie's interning hoping to make it in the marketing business...the two of them haven't seen or spoken to each other since that day four years ago and as luck would have it's the company Lanie interns for that wants to do the marketing for Noel's charity and of course who do they send to meet him but Lanie...now this is where the story goes from good to great as we see these two people navigate the broken road that leads them back to each other.
The writing is phenomenal, from the first time Lanie & Noel see each other again I could feel all of their emotions; all the hurt, disgust, fear, anger, frustration, chemistry, "tension" as well as the incredible love these two still have for each other, it's obvious they never got over the other.
Michelle really did an excellent job of making me feel such an emotional connection to Noel & Lane, I felt it most during their struggles and heartbreaks because we all know the road to true love is NEVER smooth and believe me Noel and Lanie had some giant pot holes along the way (I was in tears during those parts) and the end had me completely ugly crying as the lyrics of the song Noel was singing to Lanie played in my head but yet I let out a happy sigh of contentment when I was done reading...it's been 5 days since I first read it (notice I said first because I've read it again) and I still have that happy contentment when I think of this book and I still have tears when I play "that" song because I had to go buy it...I can't wait for book two, Rock My Bed to be release I'm hoping in that one we get to learn a little more about the other members of Black Falcon and of course I NEED and WANT more Noel...and Lanie

I felt such a range of emotions with this book. My heart broke for Noel. He is one conflicted soul in need of healing. Healing from a family relation gone bad. Healing from his breakup with Lane four years prior. I just wanted to be a band-aid and wrap myself around his wounded heart to protect him and help him heal. I cried, I screamed, I laughed and giggled, and then there was the moment when I felt a heart pounding fear. At 72%, my heart fell through the floor. I swear it left my body. I know this because I was cold and numb; my blood couldn't have been flowing. The secret was out, and what a shock it was! I was shocked beyond belief! It was one of those moments when my guess was proven right, but I went into denial and thought, No, the author won't do this. She can't do this! No, don't do this! *sigh* She did this, and it was so much worse than I thought it would be. At 75%, it was time to throw the iPad. Note to self: Invest in an Otterbox for iPad. I was a train wreck! To make matters worse, around 95% I thought my heart was going to explode or I was going to go into an asthma attack! I couldn't believe that I was almost to the end, and I was going to finish this book in such angst and not get my happy ever after! I was ready to send Michelle Valentine an email telling her she had to have made some mistake! This couldn't be! Well, Michelle Valentine, you got me. I was in angst all the way until 99%, when I finally did my happy happy joy joy dance...with tears in my eyes. To say I loved this book is an understatement. Michelle Valentine has given birth to a stellar cast of characters in an exceptional book that will remain on my all time favorite list of rock star books. I can only hope the second installment in the series comes soon....I need more of the Black Falcon Band like I need air to breathe! (Full review can be found on my blog)

Perhaps it's old fashioned of me, but when I buy a novel I fully expect the author to have a working knowledge of the English language. This was not the case in Rock The Heart. The sheer volume of grammatical mistakes is shocking. Clearly this book was not edited or it was edited by someone just as uneducated as the author. I bought this book based on the number of good reviews it received. I should have listened to the reviewers who gave this book a low rating. What a disappointment. Was this review helpful? 3.5 stars : ROCK THE HEART is the first storyline in Michelle Valentine’s contemporary, new adult Black Falcon series featuring the lives and love of the rock band Black Falcon. Rock The Heart features Noel Falcon and Lanie Vance. Our hero and heroine have been friends all of their lives and in this the relationship build up was non existent. High school would find their relationship become one of friends to lovers but Lanie’s desire to attend college and her hopes that Noel would follow were shattered when Noel chose his music. Breaking up with Noel was difficult but Lanie never realized how hard their break up would be on the only man she has ever loved.
Rock The Heart fast-forwards four years after Lanie broke it off with Noel. There has been no communication between the two and when they are finally pushed together by circumstances and work, Lanie will discover that Noel has a few secrets. As the storyline progresses, Lanie and Noel will rekindle their passion and newfound addiction to each other, but when Noel’s secrets are finally revealed, Lanie realizes that she doesn’t know the man who has stolen her heart. Their love for one another is both powerful and heartbreaking but Lanie’s image of Noel is shattered when one of the band members reveals the truth behind the current animosity between himself and the others.
Noel is the epitome of bad boy rocker but for all intents and purposes, it is a ruse. His need and love for Lanie overshadows the bad-boy persona and he is instantly transformed into a man who would do anything for the love of his life. He wears his heart on his sleeve and in doing so, is more likely to get his heart broken when the woman that he loves walks away a second time.
Lanie, on the other hand, struck me as a woman with issues of control. She is the one who dumped Noel four years earlier and yet her feelings for the man continued to overwhelm her emotions and fears. And in doing so, she came across as cold and a b*tch. Trying to keep their current relationship professional, Lanie continued to play the wounded victim when she is the one who pushed Noel away. She plays a dangerous game with Noel’s feelings, continuously skirting the edge between love and hate. For this, I had a difficult time relating to or liking Lanie and as always, she was quick to assume the worst.
ROCK THE HEART is a fast paced storyline that introduces the members of Black Falcon and in doing so sets the stage for future stories. The reader is pulled into the back stage world and personal lives of the bad boys of rock, but in doing so we will learn that everything is not all happiness and roses. Michelle Valentine writes an interesting story of one man’s need for the girl who has stolen his heart many years before and of a love that only grew stronger with the absence of the one who made your heart beat; your blood flow and your soul sing with the angels.
READING ORDER1. Rock The Heart (Nov 2012)1.5 Rock The Band (Jan 2013)2. Rock My Bed (April 2013)2.5 Rock My World (June 2013)3. Rock The Beat (Sept 2013)

Ok...I cried...and I wont give anything away but this was a fantastic love story. Noel, the big bad rocker is not aleays what it seems. He had a burning desire for one girl.
Lane, the girl who wanted a life for herself gave everything to have the one thing she always wanted..the job of her dreams.
When the two of them meet everything comes together amd crumbles at the same time. This was a wonderful story and had me laughing, gasping and crying. LOVE books like this!

I just LOVED this series. In the first book, “Rock the Heart,” you will experience the hot rekindling romance between Lanie and Noel, rock star and lead singer of the Black Falcon Band. In Lanie’s internship with a marketing company, she is forced to join the band on the road to secure the band’s marketing account for her new firm. Little does she know that business is not the only thing someone is trying to secure. When Lanie goes on tour with the band, the story is unbelievable, you will laugh, cringe, and scream with the emotions they go through. In the second book, “Rock the Band,” Noel has put his love on the line for Lanie, but for reasons you will discover, she is not willing to commit. Then another man, Striker, from the Band, Embrace the Darkness, enters the picture and tries to put the moves on Lanie. You can only imagine how crazy this makes Noel!! You will love how this book ends, and their relationship will continue in the third book, “Rock My Bed,” when Lanie’s best friend, Aubrey, enters the picture. Lanie asks her to be her maid of honor in her wedding, and Aubrey is reunited with the hot and sexy Riff, the lead guitarist of Black Falcon, with whom she had shared a few hot and sexy nights. They soon realize that they rock each other’s worlds. But how they get to their happily ever is a story all in itself. These three books are very very hot!! I could not wait to jump into the next book each time I finished the book before. Take my word for it, you will totally love this story. I cannot wait for Michelle’s next book!!!! I just have to read everything she writes!!!!Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
