GREAT Book for any musician who wants a career

Rockin In The New World is a great book for musicians at just about any point in their career. If you are just starting out, it starts out by giving you a lot of basic knowledge and good advice about getting a band off the ground. Then as the book continues, its advice gets progressively more sophisticated so that artists and bands that are already further along can get good advice regarding record deals and touring, merch, etc..

All in all, this book does a great job of presenting a cutting edge look at the current state of the music industry and presenting it to aspiring and working artists in such a way as to give them an education and an edge in their journey to a successful career.

    A bargain of information...

I bought this book under the pretense that I would read about life in the music industry, from roadie to manager, but it turned out to be a step by step process about how to grow and survive in one of today's most coveted industries. Buy and read this book, if not for the step by step process, for the links to websites and the plethora of other knowledge about the music industry, that only someone that has been there could put down. Highly recommended!!!

    This is THE ONE

Trying to understand today's ever-evolving music business is dizzying for even the most seasoned professionals (including this one); but this book is up to date and packed full of THE RIGHT information any artist trying to succeed in today's music industry MUST have. Yet for all of the detail, it reads fast and is extremely well organized. The narrative is compelling - it jumps around just enough to hold interest but not enough to get scrambled. If you want a manageable read that delivers this is THE ONE.

    Excellent

Finally! A book for the current state of the music business written by people who know it. Appears to be an excellent tool for kids in bands AND a good guide for parents of kids in bands.
