Very readable text, broken up into bite-size topical sections. Covers basic geology, rocks, minerals, fossils. One of the best aspects is the outstanding photos. There's one of a mummified baby mammoth that really sticks in my mind. I highly recommend this book for any rock, fossil or natural science enthusiast.
