    A girl, a pug, and a pastor

It's been ten years since Josie Turner stood at the altar and waiting for a groom who never showed up. She and Luke Anderson had been the grand rodeo romance of Angel Springs, Texas after Luke's romantic and very public proposal the night Josie was crowned Rodeo Queen. But then he disappeared, without so much as a good-bye or a note of apology.

Josie now showers all her love on her pug, Remedy, who kept her sane through the weeks and months after Luke's betrayal. She spends her days in Josie's Poodle Parlor, pampering the town's canine population. The past is the past. But now Josie Turner is fine and dandy, thank you very much.

And then Luke walks into her shop and once more turns her world upside down.

For Luke, coming home to Angel Springs isn't easy. Even harder is facing the girl he left behind, and finding in her place a stranger. Harder. More cynical. And even more beautiful than she'd been when he gave her his heart all those years ago. He's determined to reach the Josie he knows is still there somewhere, but at the same time, Luke has his own demons to face.

With the annual rodeo event rapidly approaching, the erstwhile couple find themselves drawn irrevocably into the festivities. The whole town seems determined to make them a couple again. But can even love redeem these two hurting hearts?

First in the Rodeo Royalty series, Rodeo Redemption is at once full of fun and hopelessly heart-rending. The author created a fictional location, turned it into a home town one can't help but long to be a part of, and peopled it with characters that feel like family. The story is packed with humor and emotion, and boasts a vibrant writing style that's easy to read and hard to put down. This is wonderful, touching romance with loads of heart and a healthy dose of humor. Simply enchanting.

Best romance I've read this summer!

A decade ago, rodeo queen Josie Turner was jilted at the alter.

These days she shuns her rodeo queen title, has sworn off men, and lives by the motto "I'd rather be a beggar and single than a queen and married."

With the help of the faithful pug she named Remedy- as in the remedy for a broken heart, Josie pieced her life back together. Now she runs a successful pet grooming business in her hometown of Angel Springs, Texas.

But when the man who left her at the alter returns, Josie finds everyone's willing to forgive and forget, including her parents. With the whole town trying to play matchmaker, is Josie the only one who can't get past the past?

Rodeo Redemption is the best romance I've read all summer. It was an absolute joy to read. The romantic tension was perfect and the author's voice sparkled with sass and humor. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop until I was finished (which was around 2am).

Turns out the hero had very important reasons for being away so long, and when he finally conquers his demons, it really tugs at your heart. I wouldn't call it a tear jerker, but this book definitely had its tissue worthy moments.

And the romance actually gave me butterflies in my stomach. Isn't that what every girl wants when she reads a love story? Well done, Teri Wilson. I'll be back!

(I received a review copy of this book in PDF format from White Rose Publishing, but I think I might have to buy the print version. This one belongs on the keeper shelf.)
